Disliked: Amenities
We stayed 2 nights- off season, January.
The room (double/sea view) is quite small but the high ceiling made it feel bigger. The TV is rather small (likely 17”). 2 bottles of water were provided along with a few packets of English tea bags. There is a fridge. The air conditioner worked well. The bed is a bit hard but no too uncomfortable. I loved that it is pitch black when all the windows are closed.
The shower is made for a small framed person. The towels are not soft but smelled and looked clean.
Our room came with a semi private and very nice balcony which opens to a great sea view to catch the beautiful sunrise and sunset.
Finding a good place to eat is a 10 minute drive to the town of Taormina. It was a little hair raising experience for me as a passenger seeing the car coming into our lane on the twisty/hairpin turns to the town at night but I would not recommend eating at the hotel’s restaurant; it was one of the worst pizza and pasta I’ve had, here in Italy as well as the US. I think you’re better off stopping at a gas station and pick up food there.
Parking is a bit tight even in a compact car. There are 7 spots available but they are made for compact or mini cars.
There are 2 staff (at check in and lunch/dinner) we interacted both were very pleasant.
I am not surprised that the hotel is rated 1 ⭐️ for its amenities.
Conveniently a short walking distance to Isola Bella.
It has a lot of potential to be better.
