We booked a private room in JHoppers. It was easy to check in. Their private onsens are easy to use and very relaxing. They have plenty of snacks to buy and they offer rice in the morning.
However, do not book on Expedia!! We made this mistake and the hotel contacted us to order dinner boxes. We responded but the hotel never got our message. The town only has 1 restaurant so if it’s closed you won’t be able to eat that night

Great affordable place to stay doing the Kumamoto Kodo. The onsen was wonderful after a long day hiking. The bunk beds were surprisingly big. Free rice in the evening and rice porridge in the morning was great because there are not many food options in town. We’ll stocked kitchen and comfortable common space. Recommended stay!

スタッフの方の対応もよく、室内も綺麗にされていました。部屋にテレ ビ、冷蔵庫等はなく、一階の共同で使用するという感じでした。冷蔵庫などに、冷やしたいものを名前を書いて冷やす方法等が初めてで、最初は不安もありましたが、問題ありませんでした。他の方々もそれぞれルールを守って過ごす宿泊施設でした。
源泉掛け流しのお風呂や夜は、白米、朝はお粥とついていて、助かりました。このような旅行も良いものだと感じました。

いつも個室を使います.熊野古道の大日越の出発点にあります.共同の居間は清潔です。朝かゆを夕方はご飯は食べ放題です.近に世界遺産のつぼ湯ガアリマス．ジェイホパーの３つの風呂も温泉です.熊野ではかならずここへとまるつもりです

快適！
子連れでゲストハウスってどうかな？と思いながらの宿泊でしたが、泊まって良かったです。
綺麗でしたし、お風呂は貸切できるし、キッチンのスペースも良いし。
コロナおさまって外国人観光客増えたら、また家族で泊まってみたいです。普段外国人と接する事の少ない子供にも良いかな、と。
