So I got two voicemails from Expedia before the reservation saying the hotel was closed . I called Expedia talked to an agent that then said no it’s open and the reservation is good. My son and I drove there got to the gate which was closed and there was no one to be found. No Expedia is not even refunding me . Not only should you not book this hotel but you should not book anything through Expedia .

Our experience with this Spa started on the first part of our 2 stop flight to Costa Rica with a WhatsApp message from one of the people working there letting us know that our card wasn't going threw - We had already paid threw Expedia and the charge was on our statement so I was VERY confused as to what was happening.
We contacted Expedia who could not get them on the phone. The Spa wanted us to cancel threw Expedia and rebook directly with them with a card. At this point I let them know directly that Expedia was trying to get in touch with them they told me that Expedia was telling them to tell me to cancel and just pay them directly - at the same Expedia was telling me they weren't able to get a hold of anyone at the resort. The Spa also made it clear that if we didn't put a card down to hold the room it wouldn't be available upon out arrival but that if we booked directly they could get us better rates.
It was becoming clear that the Spa was just trying to avoid paying Expedia whatever part of the fee they usually get.
We were ultimately forced to book another hotel during our layover and Expedia told us we had to wait until they get their money back from this place to refund us on that stay.
I think its insane that Expedia still has this location listed on their services with this level of dishonesty and stress that they put on their customers. Keep in mind we were literally on a flight to this destination when the first message came threw. DO NOT BOOK HERE!!!

This is a peaceful place with a good ambiance in which you can get great spa services, but is under staffed. The restaurant was overpriced for what you got and not in line with it's pricing, like no bread or salads to go with your entrée, or that the dessert was inedible. There no TV's in the room, and that is ok, but there is also no air conditioning which is ok if you have air flow... but there was no screens on the balcony doors or windows... so either you get bit up by bugs with the windows open, or they are closed and you are hot at night. Also pretty bad was the bed. Clearly it had seen better days and was actually collapsed on one side with a curved crease down the middle, so you felt like you were rolling off the edge if you were on that side of the bed.

The property is beautiful, the site is wonderful and the rooms are great! They were short on staff so the restaurant service was slow and I couldn’t get the massage I wanted.

Wonderful attentive staff, beautiful peaceful accommodations. Enjoyed the atmosphere and friendliness of the facility and staff.
