Room had strong bleach smell. Walls were very thin and people outside and above were easy to hear. Needed white noise on my phone to sleep.

The was no internet and the pool was closed, even though I had confirmed otherwise when I booked. When confronted by my disabled 72yr old wife, the front desk person named Robert complained about the staff member who had booked us, saying she didn't know anything. Then, when we expressed displeasure, actually trespassed us and called the police, and we were evicted from our room. We had driven 6 hours heading back to Tampa where our house had gotten flooded from the hurricane and needed the internet to book another room. Didn't matter. They evicted my wife of 50yrs and myself anyway. We have never been treated with such disrespect at a hotel anywhere in the world. I should have known, the place was a bad as all the reviews. AVOID!

Hello, James. I do apologize for the poor experience you had at our property. However, Robert mentioned that the person that booked your room was a representative from Expedia, not directly through our hotel, so it wouldn’t have been a member of our staff that would have booked your room. The reason for our pool being closed is for safety reasons, the recent hurricane had damaged certain parts of our pool area, and is currently being repaired. For the safety of our guests, we have the pool currently closed.As for the wifi, our internet provider was conducting some sort of maintenance at the time, which they failed to inform us about, and that’s why it was down for a couple hours.The reason you and your wife were asked to leave the property was due to a physical and verbal assault. After I had been informed about the incident, I reviewed the camera footage, and saw that an item was thrown at our front desk agent, and that a woman was verbally abusing our front desk agent. While I understand that you and your wife were upset about the pool being closed due to repairs, and that the internet was down due to the provider conducting maintenance, we do not condone any sort of violence or abuse to our employees here.

The staff was very helpful during this hurricane evacuation. Called me to see if i wanted to stay an extra night because many of the evacuees were staying and the hotel was booked. Gave me the chance first before booking my room. Very pet friendly. No questions about the dogs. Just have a nice stay. Rooms were very clean. Can not ask for better.
