"Lorian is a cosy small camp with very good staff. Food was good and location excellent...close to the air strip and fairly close to possible sightings.
The Lorian team made the trip memorable with their superb and always helpful attitude.
Will go back on next trip and happy to recommend."
"We really loved this location. It was our third time in Masai Mara so I can compare to Keekorok and Royal Maison. Royal Maison was nice, but this property is more level and the tents are closer to the reception and each other, yet still quite private. The electricity ran all night long, and there was cell service and data from the tents. The location is great as it is outside the gate of the reserve and very close to it. The food was amazing. So tasty and beautiful presentation. And the...
"Amazing experience on the Mara! The most memorable of my travels this year so far. Everything from food to transport and game drives was arranged impeccably. The Masai hosting and guarding us were very nice and cooked delicious food. We saw many animals on the game drives and our driver John was a great guide. Carmen who looks after the hotel was an amazing hostess! I would definitely recommend this camp. It's right on the Mara river so a great place to watch hippos and crocs during...
"My friends & I left a piece of our hearts at Il Moran Governors Camp. I have traveled the world, 64 countries & counting and have never had such a beautiful & unique experience as I did at Il Moran. The land and animals of the Masai are breathtaking, but the dedication & service of EACH & EVERY employee at Il Moran make Il Moran Governors Camp what it is and exemplify the hard work, love & spirit of the Kenyan people. I will be recommending Il Moran to everyone I know. A tip, when you visit,...

"We just completed our stay at Mara Intrepid camp. It was an unforgettable experience! Great location right on the Talek River. Excellent food with lots of options (plus a full bar), and the staff really go out of their way to ensure the comfort of each and every guest. The tents have lots of space and all the comforts we are used to at home. If you’re booking a safari game drive with them, do insist on a Toyota Land Cruiser over the Land Rover."
"The location and the view you have from the hotel is as promised from their pictures.
The only establishment within the park. Top service from all the staff. They give you the feeling of belonging and being a family . Special thanks to Duncan, Denis, Grace , Daniel and if you go there make sure you book a spa session with Judy ! Looking forward to go again with my wife !
Safari experiences with their drivers was also top ! Vivian and John were more persistent than us to make sure we will see what we wanted to see"
"Mara Major Camp is the perfect place to stay for an authentic Kenyan safari experience. The lodge staff are local Maasai that truly make the place special. We were the only guests at the camp because we stayed at the beginning of the rainy/off season and they were so attentive to us, taking care of all our needs. The food is great and the chef works hard to present you wonderful meals. He also catered to our weird food needs. One of the Maasai took us on game drives around Maasai Mara Reserve and did a fantastic job driving and getting us close to the animals. He took us to see Lion cubs, cheetah cubs, and even a leopard cub! We also watched a Lion hunt and kill! Spectacular experience!
The complaint I have has nothing to do with the camp, the stay, or the camp staff, but rather the false information advertised on Expedia. I don’t know if this is Expedia’s fault or the owners that run the camp off site. First, the camp is advertised as “all inclusive.” This is not true. You only get the lodging and meals, but you’re hit with ridiculous extra fees for anything else: transportation, game drives, other activities, anything to drink besides water, etc. So I warn when booking, this high price you’re paying for your stay doesn’t cover much. Second, the advertisement claims you will have free transportation from the nearest airstrips to the camp and back again. This is also not true and we were hit with another unexpected charge to get to the airstrip after our stay. Be warned. "
