Good value for money hotel in Douro wine region. Little town from where you can discover the surrounding hills, viewpoints and Douro. Rooms were clean, decent and had proper bathroom.

An unexpected find
Posted 14 Mar 2024 on HotelsThe Douro Inn was an unexpected find way up in the hills above the Douro Valley. The room was large the bathroom clean and also spacious. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good. My only criticism would be the lack of a lift. Our room was on the second floor and there were a lot of stairs. For a hotel of that size I would have expected a lift.

Great place to stay. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I went with a group of friends. One of our friends didn’t have a room and they called around other hotels and found a room locally. Also recommended a great area restaurant and when we checked out we left a phone charger in the room and they came outside to bring it to us. Definitely will stay here and recommend it to others. The place and the staff made it a wonderful stay.

Stay Away or you will regret it!

We arrived on September 28 and there was a huge concert just outside hotel. Literally 2 meters away. The hotel room was actually vibrating. The hotel manager was absolutely indifferent and rude. We abounded the hotel and left. Really hope that Hotel.com will remedy this situation for us. Also drive to the hotel was not for faint hearted. Very step in the mountains

Nice clean comfortable room, friendly helpful staff, good breakfast. Didn’t use the restaurant for dinner as it looked rather large and empty, not cosy for dinner. Liked having a balcony and being able to sit outside.
