Fabulous restaurant in hotel
Posted 10 Jun 2018 on HotelsA good hotel close to the old town. We ate at the restaurant and the food was fabulous. Loved the old town and the history of the town and had a nice walk around the Jordan River. It was a good choice to stop over on our way from Prague to Cesky Krumlov.

Pros: central, clean and modern
Cons: facilities for business travellers.
Location: good choice of bars and restaurants all close by.
A good centrally located hotel. The rooms are a little small, but they are in excellent condition and clean and tidy. I needed some laundry doing and was surprised that they did not have a proper facility for this. Although they did complete it for me.
Unfortunately I had to leave as the hotel had been fully booked for a local festival, although the gentleman on reception was trying to find a way of accomodating me.

Posted 3 Sep 2015 on HotelsSoviet style throwback from before the revolution. Small rooms Unbearably hot in Summer on South side with large picture windows no air con or even a fan. Windows shut on checking in room temp 40 degrees plus. Staff vary from Excellent to appalling. Generally the management sit around scowling caring little for the customer experience. Tabor is lovely but stay somewhere else if its a hot Summer. Restaurant tale of emperors new clothes overpriced and poor food and service Its called Illusion which is fitting because it looks better than it is. The breakfast is good but theres no salt and pepper for your eggs. Lots of little details ad up to a poor overall experience a bit more thought and this place could rise to mediocre.

Cons: As already mentioned some items of decor (e g reception area)
Breakfast choice of items limited compared to some hotels in Cz where
I have stayed
Location: Sightseeing & Museum only
Convenient location but some of the decor (outside included) is dated
Helpful staff member at check-in as there was some uncertainty on my part
as to which hotel had been booked through Expedia
