15 min after we checked in, the staff came to tell us she made a mistake and we need to move to a different room. Then in the evening, there was no hot water. There was no front desk, no contact info in the room to report the issue. We had to find a number on the internet to call. Numerous calls later, a technician and a staff came. They seemed not to be able to resolve the issue. Instead asked us to move again. We asked if we could take a shower in another room which they allowed, Next morning, though we were told when checked in, the front desk would be staffed by 10:00 am and we could leave our luggage there. No one was there. We had to leave our luggage in our room with a notice, but dropped the key as told. When we came back around 11:00 to get our luggage, no one was there. After looking around, a cleaning lady opened the door for us. However, she refused to allow us to use the toilet even though the room was not cleaned. She was so rude and cold, i can’t believe she even worked in hospitality. No sympathy and no flexibility. I guess they already had our money so dont care. she should be fired!! We have never had any experience like this after traveling in so many countries and places. This hotel is really terrible!

Here is your miserable comment on time.Poor is the word that best suits you.The reply is necessary so let's start from the beginning:let's start by telling you that the room for overnight stay only had a cost of 75.00.No mistake was made at check-in ... you simply had a perfect room.When booking you knew very well that the reception would close at 6:30 pm and that no one would be in the building anymore, a 3-star hotel is not obliged to have evening/night staff.There was hot water, you were the only ones unable to use it because you positioned the knob on the right when we repeatedly said that it should be placed on the left, like in all showers in the world.In addition to the technician who came specifically at 9:00 pm, a member of the hotel staff also arrived and positioned the knob on the hot water (red dot) even though you were repeatedly told that there was hot water throughout the hotel and that there had to be only in your room.As for checkout, you were told to leave your luggage in a secure place, but no room could be used after 10:00 (Checkout time) even though your luggage was deliberately left in the room even though you knew the checkout time and you demanded to use the room even after 11:00 because in your opinion "the room had been paid for" for constant use. The question is: do you travel often or is it the first time you have stayed in a facility other than away from your home.Never see each other again, because people like you are truly detrimental to tourism. We could go on about more but let's avoid it.

Great central location
Posted 26 Aug 2024 on HotelsStaff were very helpful with directions, parking, Ortigio is another limited parking, Low Emissions Zone in Italy / Sicily, so valet parking is the way to go. Recommendations of sightseeing and cafes & restaurant are spot on.

The most perfect location! Ortigia is really special. Staff so helpful, room very clean. Delicious breakfast with continental fare but also scrambled eggs and bacon, and really lovely coffee.

Nice large clean room and attached bath. Great albeit small shower but our first in 4 days that actually drained (yay)! Staff very nice & helpful. With an attached restaurant for drinks & snacks it’s very convenient. Only drawback is finding parking in the local lots as the parking is very difficult in the area. Be sure to download EasyPark app before you leave also as there is no on site parking at the hotel and several of the machines in the parking lots don’t work.

Good 3 night stay in Ortigia.
Posted 13 Nov 2023 on HotelsThis hotel was very clean and in a good location for exploring Ortigia. Not too many stairs to reach the first floor. The breakfast was very good, and the young man in charge was very helpful several times on our 3 night stay.
The rooms are plain but clean and large. We enjoyed the small balcony. On weekend nights the crowd below was quite loud, but the AC mostly muffled the outdoor noise.
