Reasonable comfort but beware of noise
Posted 18 Feb 2019 on HotelsNeat room without much fuss. Reasonable for the price. One disturbing matter was across the road from us on a friday morning at 630am there were sounds of piling and jack hammering !! No airconditioning hence window need to be opened but thats' where one can easily hear traffic sound.

Summer heat and no A/C?
Posted 11 Feb 2019 on HotelsI stayed in this off-campus housing choice for four nights as I waited to move into my University of Sydney housing. It was OK and felt somewhat run-down and smaller than I'd imagined. The most disappointing thing was that there was no A/C, and with it being 80-90 with 75%+ humidity, I did not sleep well at night.

Location, security quiet of this place all excellent. Bed nice and straight and if they improve mattress - that would be good. People most helpful and friendly. close to shops and funky Newtown but quiet in spite of busy road nearby. Outdoor area under trees a nice bonus.

Traffic noise from carillon Avenue terrible, we were unable to sleep. Would not use this accommodation again.

Reminded me of a prison cell. Dirty marks where things had obviously splashed on walls and not been wiped off. Cheap, but not cheap enough for the room.

You get what you pay for.
Posted 20 Feb 2018 on HotelsThis is not a bad option in a very expensive city.
The village is a pleasant location away from the noise of Newtown streets, but close to restaurants, and about a 10 min walk to the local swimming pool. Lack of air-con is a minus in hot Sydney. There is a games and tv room in a nearby part of the village, which is OK.
It is a bit of a hassle to find reception from Carrillon Avenue - stairs and poor signage - and there is a longish wait as all customers are booked in and taken to their rooms in different parts of the village by the only person at reception.
Although the website says reception is shut after business hours, there was someone available by phone 24 hrs.
