Guest service Luke, was very helpful and accomodating! Hotel is opposite a light rail and only a 15 minute walk into the CBD good location

I was looking for a basic room and bathroom and didn’t want any extras or anything fancy. This was perfect and in a great price range

Everyting is good. Location is convenience to go everyway. The staff is friendly, room is tidy & clean.

Did not pay much, got even less
Posted 28 Mar 2020 on HotelsThe size of the room was about 8 sq meters, not much bigger than the bathroom. They charged things from minibar from my credit card which I didn't take but after reclaim corrected that.

It is disappointing to receive such a low score especially in relation to the room size. You booked our budget single room and the sizing is apparent in the title 'Matchbox room' and with the photo's and measurements provided online. This is also reflected in the pricing which at $65 I am sure you have to agree is a steal in Sydney's hotel market!
Next time, please see our friendly staff at reception if the room is not to your liking as we have many different double and deluxe double room types we could have shown you.
We do apologize for the mix up with the minibar charge and the refund was promptly made to your credit card. I want you to know that I have followed this up with my staff to ensure this error does not occur again.
We want all of our guests to have a comfortable stay with us and I do apologize this was not the case for you on this occasion. Next time please feel free to approach our friendly staff during your stay as they will always go above and beyond to ensure you have the best possible guest experience with us.

Small room, great price with a very comfortable bed with clean linen. Shower with fabulous large head that was adjustable and high enough for tall person. The floors are my gripe, bathroom floor looked dirty and as though it hadnt been cleaned in months also carpet in bedroom was worn, stained and dirt of white small spots at bottom of bed, noticed it as soon as i walked in.

Brilliant location and friendly staff
Got a free upgrade which was lovely.
Bed *was* a little bit strange/kind of lumpy, but other than that, loved it.
Is literally opposite a light rail stop, very convenient.

Cigarette Smoke drifted to our room
We ordered a non smoking room
We were upgraded but the same result
Very unpleasant and unacceptable

Please note that none of our rooms are smoking rooms, and our air con systems are driven from outside units on the roof of the hotel. I reviewed your feedback card left this morning and instantly went to your upgraded room to investigate whether or not there was a smell of cigarette smoke. I did not personally detect anything myself, however I appreciate some people have much more sensitive noses to others and i did notice you had the windows open, so it is entirely possible smoke from outside can enter if left open. Please accept my apologies that we were unable to meet your expectations on this occasion, and know we tried our very best to ensure your stay with us was an enjoyable as possible.
If you do decide to give us another chance, please get in touch with me directly and i will personally see to it that you have an enjoyable stay at a great price.
We wish you the very best with any further travel plans you may have.

It was OK and served its purpose for me and I would return under similar circumstances. The carpets were threadbare in places and may cause a tripping hazzard.
