Basic but comfortable, warm showers and very comfortable beds and one of the best stakes I've had in a long long time.

The location is nice but there is no normal front desk, the windows don't close well, no private bathroom and depending on room it may be very noisy

Great hotel for the price! Easy to get to from cruise terminal, short walk. Great area with plenty of dining, shopping and transportation options.

Stayed for one night on Sunday because of a live show on Sunday night and I had to work on Monday. The Occidental Hotel is very close to where I work. Booked and stayed there for the first time.
Pub and Restaurant was closed therefore no noises, it was nice and quiet. The room was a bit small but for only a night, and considering the price, no complains. Microwave in the room was a nice addition to the minimalist room. If I have to stay in the city, I would love to come back. However, the Occidental Hotel constantly booked out, now I understand why :)

I really enjoyed my stay here and would definitely choose this place again. My room was clean, bed was comfortable but the best feature is the location. You are close to all the major Sydney sights, restaurants, pubs and shopping. The price was great for what you get. Highly recommended.
