I would have given an excellent rating except when we arrived after a 7 hour train ride we were given a smoking room that was dirty and run down. Fortunately I showed them our request for non-smoking and they moved us. These little things matter when navigating a foreign country.

We have stayed at the Novotel in Solo several times and have always been happy with their service. There is a great little restaurant across the street—Alamama. It has western and Indonesian options. The restaurant at the hotel is always very good too.

Comfy stay in Solo

Very nice stay in Solo. All staff had been very helpful and courteous. Room and all facilities were clean. What needs to be improved is the bathroom: hand-held shower head and rain shower head badly need to be replaced.

Shabby and old

The location, The Service, The breakfast are All ok but The hotel Looks so shabby, need renovation. The chairs in the Resto are not comfortable anymore to be seated. My room I used looked shabby and old and a bit dirty bathroom. I was sorry to stay here compared with my previous stay years ago.
