OMG. Is this really a KOA? This is better than most 5 star resorts I have ever stayed at. Yes it is a RV resort, but they have two "wings" with small and large type apartments, I was in the smaller one #103 in the North building. First of all check in was a breeze and the girls at the front desk where super friendly and even let us check in a little bit early. Upon entering the unit I was blown away at how new these units where and how super clean. My unit had a studio type area with a pull out couch, new appliances HUGE TV that you could watch from the other side of the room. The bedroom had a queen size bed with a smaller TV mounted to -the wall, the bed and linen was super comfortable. The unit also has a FULL size washer dryer, amazing. The bathroom although did not have a tub the shower was fantastic with dual shower heads and great pressure and heat. The balcony was one of our favorite places to hang out in the morning with coffee and in the evening with a few cocktails, the ocean breeze made it delightful to sit out there and relax and chat. The only thing I could add and am being picky here is to add a bug screen on the patio doors so you could allow some fresh air in the unit. Oh I must say the AC was FANTASTIC, you could not hear anything when the AC switched on as all the AC ubits are mounted on the side of the building and not in the window or inside the unit. The resort itself has a great pool, fantastic store and a great bar with a place to eat. Only 20 mi

There was not one thing that we did not like about our stay. Our home was hit directly by a hurricane the week of our reservation. When I reached out to the office, letting them know our situation and that we may not be able to make our reservation they offered us a place to evacuate to sooner than our reservation. Even extended to additional family and our dogs. That meant the world to us. Luckily, we survived the hurricanes and were able to make our reservation. Every single staff member on that property was exceptionally kind, and helpful. The hotel rooms are like little condos, extremely clean, very comfortable. I can’t tell you how happy I was to have the full size washer and dryer. Loved the shower! Lots of fresh towels. My son and his friends fished for 3 days straight catching huge fish. The activity rentals are all pretty affordable. So much to do. Everything you need can be provided on site. Our family will be making our reservations annually now. We are in love. Thanks so much for such wonderful hospitality, especially when we needed it the most.

What a beautiful hotel in the perfect location, just a 25 minute drive to Key West but in a peaceful spot. Our suite was spotless with a beautiful large balcony and gorgeous view of the water. Everything you need to cook simple meals (no condiments) but keurig coffee provided. Having a full size fridge and washer and dryer was a big plus. Even pool towels provided. The pool was beautiful and pool bar had great drinks, good food and wonderful service, everyone so nice. When we had to leave early due to the hurricane coming near our home they were great about refunding us for the days we could not be there. That was a relief. We will definitely be back!!!

This hotel at the KOA Resort was a true surprise! Our fellow travelers have RV’s, we do not…we were happy there was even a hotel there to stay in. But.. what a hotel it is! The rooms are wonderful suites! Beautifully decorated, well thought out design, meticulously clean, full size appliances.. even a washer and dryer, large balcony with a view, beach towels, and even makeup washcloths AND they are pet-friendly! Some premier high-end hotels I’ve stayed at in Chicago haven’t been this nice! The amenities at the Resort are extensive..a Cafe, full bar, Gift/Grocery shop, gorgeous pool area, hammocks, corn hole, bocce ball, boat rentals, scooter and golf cart rentals, kayak rentals, a beach, Marine store, and Captain Scott is available for a boat tour and history lesson of the Keys (which of course we did and it was phenomenal!). The RV sites are beautiful with varied options for staying. We highly recommend Sugarloaf Key Hotel and KOA Resort. We definitely will be visiting again!

Stayed 3 nights over Labor Day weekend in the hotel while our friends used campsites. Hotel was awesome!! Overall property was awesome, live music at the pool at night, marina staff was more than helpful and remembered our names throughout our visit. Boat ramp and docks worked out great!
