75 miles from Stromsund you will find the Hallingsafallet, Sweden's longest canyon with a stream that crashes down from a cliff as a 130 feet waterfall. Visit the nearby nature reserve Bjuralven, where the small carnivorous plants are bound to impress if you are travelling with children. Bjuralven River disappears into the ground and reappears further along, an underground rampage which has created the distinctive appearance of the area.
If you take a weekend trip to Stromsund in winter there are several exciting activities here for you. The district is known for its extensive snow scooter trails, but even if you are not a fan of scooters you will enjoy Swedish winter. Glide across the snowfield behind a team of Alaskan huskies, or go cross-country skiing at your own pace at Stromsund Skidstugan, Hoting and Fyrabadet.
