Avoid if staying in Portpatrick
Posted 5 Jan 2023 on HotelsProperty is a great size for a family or small group of people and Kitchen has everything you would need for self-catering
Nice touches – washing up liquid, cloth, sponge, dishwasher tablets provided…much appreciated.
Quiet location with good views. But unfortunately this was the last of the positive points about this property!
Balcony on the first floor had two missing spindles which were just left lying! I am just thankful our children are older as this is downright dangerous and illegal. I would be concerned for any future guests visiting with young children/pets.
loose carpet at the top of the stairs which was a trip hazard. The inside handle of the bathroom door falls off, Skirting board also hanging off, missing light bulbs!
Patio doors don’t open on first or top floor! Again, another health and safety issue if there was a fire! Threshold between the carpet and laminate had screws sticking up! Dining room chairs are barely standing!
The list goes on! Emailed the Mount Stewart Hotel who own the property and called them regarding this and a week down the line no response! My advice…don’t stay here! We have stayed in much nicer and cheaper properties in Portpatrick.

Lovely escape
Posted 20 Nov 2020 on HotelsStayed 2 nights. Accommodation warm and comfortable throughout our stay. Staff member Jennifer at the Mount Stewart hotel where we collected our keys was welcoming and helpful. All the utilities worked well but would have been a nice touch to have the heating on for our arrival. This is missing all too often in hotels approaching winter time. Well equipped kitchen with small exception that there was no dish water tablets provided. Washing up liquid was provided. Weather was unseasonably windy and my wife and I braved the cliff top walk along the edge of the golf course. We didn't eat at the hotel but have done previously and can recommend the quality of the food. Overall a very pleasant stay.

Great Apartment But With Some Deficiencies
Posted 13 Oct 2020 on HotelsOverall this is an excellent property. It is a recently built spacious apartment in a small development on the outskirts of the town, but still within easy walking distance of everything. It should easily merit a score of 10 but is badly let down on a number of issues. It is owned by one of the hotels but there was no communication telling us to collect the keys from there, not even a note on the door. There was a lack of cleaning products and equipment. There was no vacuum cleaner, no detergents (apart from one dishwasher tablet). There was no bath mat, even though the bathroom had a tiled floor. There was a lack of instruction books for the equipment and no information pack apart from a few small notices on the wall. If these were remedied the apartment would be superb, or at the very least guests should be informed of these deficiencies.
Eating in the owner's Mount Stuart Hotel restaurant was first class. A standard way beyond all the other restaurants in the town and the 10% discount was much appreciated, also a special note to the superb staff in the dining room who made us most welcome.

Booked by my agent for a film we were shooting in the area. Very nice cleans property and the staff were very friendly. I stay in a lot of hotels and apartments and this one I've enjoyed the most.
