There are plenty of photo opportunities at this beautiful building that is easily identified by the two enormous famous sculptures near its entrance.

The Frankfurter Wertpapierbörse (FWB) is the Frankfurt Stock Exchange building. It is considered the heart of the financial district of the city. Discover the very interesting architectural style, with renowned bronze sculptures depicting a huge bull and bear directly in front of the building.

Some people simply call the Frankfurter Wertpapierbörse building the Börse, which is the name of one of the trading exchanges that operate inside it.

The beautiful structure was designed and built between 1874 and 1879 by the German architects Rudolf Heinrich Burnitz and Oskar Sommer, with the contribution of Alexander Linnemann, a celebrated architect, craftsman and glass painter. Admire the façade’s multiple columns, arched windows and elegant statues, some near the entrance and some lining up at the top of the building.

At the front of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange is a very popular sight among tourists, the Bulle & Bär (Bull and Bear) sculptures. They were created by the German sculptor Reinhard Dachlauer, one of the most influential artists specializing in animal forms. Take photos of the two huge bronze figures that symbolize the rise and fall of stock prices. Tradition says if you rub a specific part of the bull’s body you will attract money into your life.

Wander about the surroundings of the Frankfurter Wertpapierbörse building. The attractive Börsenplatz square has several restaurants where you can have a tasty meal while enjoying people-watching. Many businesses and banks are also located around the area. Nearby find the Zeil, one of the most famous and lively shopping streets in the country.

Bankenviertel is the business district of Frankfurt and an important financial center in Germany. It is located within the Innenstadt district and houses the Frankfurter Wertpapierbörse (FWB) building. Reach the area via the Bahnhof Frankfurt (Main) Hauptwache (Frankfurt Hauptwache station), a major train station in the city center.
