Dear Christoph, thanks for your feedback, which I have read great surprise. It could well be that your expectations were different, but that is obviously subjective. But to call our guesthouse shabby and outdated is really not fair at all. We have invested over the last 2 years and did major maintenance and upgrades to our property. The fact that you don't like the decor in the room and claim it is from 30 years ago is again very subjective in my view not fair. Don't really understand what decor you are referring to either. I don't understand the fact that you forget to mention you had booked our cheapest and smallest room without a view and we complimentary upgraded you. Your were upgraded to a lovely much more spacious Superior Room with bathroom ensuite with bath and separate shower and the room has a lovely balcony with stunning views, but you forget to mention this. You stayed with us last Thu 21 and Fri 22 Oct and both days the weather was actually not great or rather pretty bad with lot's of rain (50mm) and strong wind. This definitely had an effect on the cleanliness of our pools overnight, but you must have noticed that the moment the weather allowed it and our staff had the chance to clean it, they did thoroughly. Our pools are cleaned on a daily basis. I am however glad that you were very happy with our staff being very accommodating. We do find it strange that you didn't mention anything on checkout when our duty manager asked if you enjoyed your stay, which you replied that you did. Maybe we could have doe something during your stay if you would have mentioned something. It is obviously a disappointment to read such a review and a rating of 4 out of 10, but we always strive to improve. So thanks again for your feedback. Kind regards, Dave & The WedgeView Team
