Not your usual hotel
Posted 13 Aug 2016
Pros: Good location, eccentric format appealed to us at least.
Cons: The access point caused damage to one car coming in but there is little that could be done because of the historic layout.
Location: Stege is a pleasant historic town and there is good access to the rest of Mon; chalk cliffs, church frescos, neolithic monuments.
The back-street location tests your sat-nav, as does the narrow access point. Key pick-up is via a locked box which you are given the combination to with the keys in labelled envelopes.
We were in the main block with 6 rooms around a communal kitchen area, there are also 6 independant rooms. The communal area feels a bit like a Youth Hostel and is well equiped; whether you end up talking to other guests beyond a quick "go-morgen" is up to you.
The rooms have a part mezzanine floor with 2/3 beds upstairs, plenty of space overall but a little inconvenient with a large table and two chairs. Anyone sleeping upstairs needs be confident up and down ladders.

Ok for a short stay.
Posted 18 Jun 2016 on HotelsWe were looking for a clean, comfortable, inexpensive room for one night. This place fills that niche.

No frills hotel in town.

Pros: Right in town, they accommodated us for an early check in.
Cons: The shower has molds, can be cleaner
Location: It is close to some cafes and restaurants.
Lacking some essentials, like shampoo and/or bath soap. Beds are comfortable.

Basic but clean and comfortable
Posted 1 Jun 2015 on HotelsThink about staying in a country motel 30 or more years ago (if your age and memory allows you to do this) and this is the Motel Stege. Basic facilities only (although includes tiny equipped kitchen) and small rooms but for a short stay it delivered with a comfortable bed for a peaceful night's sleep (until church chimes started at 7am!) Off street free parking and free wifi both most satisfactory.

Overpriced
Posted 2 Aug 2014 on HotelsGood location, and room was clean. A bit costly for what you get.
