Lovely visit.
Posted 7 Aug 2024 on HotelsLovely room. We were in Thyme. Small but very comfortable for a couple of nights. Very handy for Beamish museum. Fabulous food in restaurant both evenings and breakfast in the conservatory was also excellent. Lovely beer garden with the most amazing hanging baskets I have ever seen. Little shed areas with heaters made it great to chill after dinner. All staff encountered were great. If I had to give a negative I would say I wish could have turned off the outside light over the door as it was quite bright during the night but certainly didn't ruin the stay.

We want to visit the beamish museum and it was a good location for this.
Weather was great so we were able to sit in the beer garden overlooking the hills

Nice but overpriced
Posted 21 Jun 2024 on HotelsBeautifully furnished room and very comfortable ginormous bed, let down a little by a mean supply of water/coffee/tea/milk considering the price of a nights stay.
Weirdly, the door to the room (looking into the hall) had obscured glass, but the bathroom (looking into the entire bathroom and bed room) did not. So you had to pull the blind every time you used the bathroom or changed clothes. Had us scratching our head a little as the window was passed outside directly by other guests.
Breakfast was nothing to write home about but adequate.
The 9-45 room service shout out was rather early and as we didn’t need anything for the room at that moment, we didn’t get ANY room service later, either.

Great staff, couldn’t do enough including one lending me his phone cable. Reasonably priced accommodation and food. Beautiful setting near Beamish museum. Large comfy bed, bath robes, bottled water and teabag’s etc. Shower grouting could do with a clean but good pressure. Very shallow washbasin which splashed you when the taps turned on if you’re not aware of it. Would definitely stay again.

No coat hangers to hang up clothes and no shampoo in room. Tried ringing reception but no answer,
