Firstly, all the positives but, unfortunately ending with a negative. On arrival, I was greeted by a friendly and efficient receptionist. Booking in was very easy and I was given a map of the island and a booklet of things to see and do. My room is very clean and spacious with a queen size bed, furniture, sufficient storage, lovely bathroom with bath/shower and complimentary bathroom items. Kettle, tea, coffee milk etc are also in the room. Balcony with 2 chairs and a table. LG tv with remote. Everyone is helpful, friendly, efficient and courteous, from the restaurant staff, bar staff and housekeeping. Many thanks to Patricia at breakfast time. Very friendly and efficient, a cut above the rest. Choice of food is extensive for breakfast and dinner. There is a buffet and/or table service with menu at breakfast. Well equipped bar with bar meals which are excellent. However, I do have a negative. I have a balcony with 4 chairs and a table. There is also a 9 hole golf course close to the hotel with driving range and putting green. The downside is that I am not allowed to have a cigarette on the balcony. If I do, I will be subject to a £100 fine. I feel that this is a violation of my human rights and that the hotel is prejudiced against smokers. Throughout my travels around the world, with my late wife and now just myself, we/I always had/have a room with a balcony. On that balcony there were 2 chairs, a table and an ashtray. Unfortunately, the hotel cannot be insured if smoking is permitted so close to the hotel, hence the rule. In the risk assessment completed by the insurers and the fire officer, smoking on the balconies poses a very high risk of fire. We hope to welcome you back to stay with us soon. Pleasant stay in lovely setting
Posted 30 Jun 2024 on HotelsThis is a lovely hotel to stay in. The rooms are spacious and quiet with nice views across the grounds, everything is clean and well maintained. We made use of the pool and outdoor hot tub which was nice to do on a sunny day. We had lunch on arrival while we waited for our room to become ready and it was tasty and of good quality.
Could have happily spent more time in the hotel itself but we were busy exploring.
It is a bit of a long walk down to the main town but we walked down most days and taxi'd back up.

Lovely staff lounge bar area needs an upgrade in music and furnishings it would help attract guests as a little dated

Staff in bar and restaurant were polite and efficient, nothing was too much trouble. Room was large and clean with everything we needed. Used pool daily which was clean and quiet, liked the kids free times
