Not so near the seaside
Posted 12 Apr 2022 on HotelsGoblins Creek is a well appointed guest house with friendly hosts and staff, however, it is not near the seaside nor does it offer showers in its bedrooms, a major let-down for me. They advertise that breakfast is available on site, however they only offer self service cereal and coffee/tea. Other than accommodation, they don't offer any other service, not even help with your luggage.

Charming and friendly guesthouse
Posted 10 Sep 2018 on HotelsA really charming guesthouse with all the small touches of a much pricier place. Great value for money, good linen, amenities, bathroom and general environment. Proprietors were super welcoming and dealt with a late check-in with ease, and really made you feel at home. Bonus: there is a Nespresso machine in the room and complimentary basic breakfast (cereals, toast, coffee) even though it is not advertised as B&B. The wildlife sanctuary at the back is a fantastic place to visit and the wild eagle owls hooting at night are a treat. You really do feel like you are in a special place. Hint: there are zero restaurants/take out places open in St Helena on a Sunday evening so be prepared. Also, if travelling to paternoster, the gravel road is badly corrugated, and not advisable. There is a fantastic book of the history of St Helena available at the west coast fossil museum (well worth a visit) which gives some great information. Enjoy the peace and tranquility!

Tranquil and beautiful break-away at Goblins Creek
Posted 26 Sep 2016 on HotelsIn view of celebrating our 6th wedding anniversary, we spend the night at Goblins Creek and was overwhelmed by the warm hospitality, cosy room and beautiful venue Goblins Creek. We had the best sleep on the bed (very comfortable) and delicious coffee (Kenya coffee). We are hoping to return to Goblins Creek in the future and would highly recommend for anyone to go there. Brett and Rosie will make your stay well worth the money.

Pros: Friendliness of the hosts and the relaxed atmosphere they provided. Lovely comfortable lounge and the comfortable four poster bed.
Cons: A little more fruit at breakfast. Maybe a pull around curtain for claw foot tub shower.
Location: Nice walks on the beach. Short drive to West Coast Fossil Park that is awesome and the Khoi San Culture Centre.
Great host. Brent and Rose very welcoming and helpful with information about the area. Great recommendation for dinner at the Alegria Restaurant. Lovely grounds and enjoyed the walk about with the animals in the yard, especially feeding the turtles. Lovely setting for the pool and very refreshing after a hot day. Four poster bed was extremely comfortable.
