I think free breakfast would improve the stay.

Hello Frederic, Just wanted to thank you for the review. We also agree that including breakfast would be nice. Although only a select few Garden inns do. For this we do apologize. For your reference booking sites do have filters to better allow you to find the properties that do include breakfast.

Everything was nice except the fact when we checked in we paid $230 for our 1 day stay plus $50 for incidentals. This was from Saturday to Sunday. Come Monday morning I had my $50 returned to me but there was a mystery charge of $215 for nothing. I called the hotel and they claimed to know nothing about this so I had to call my bank and dispute the charge and now my wifes card is on hold for a mistake the hotel made and won't own up to it. This happened 2 years ago in Knoxville TN, also a Hilton...I wonder if that's just a coincidence???

Hello Kristen, this is Amy at the front desk of the Hilton Garden inn of Saint Augustine beach.. After seeing your review i did look into your reservation and the folio attached.... your stay was indeed "authorized" 2xs.. (not charged) once for 50 (incidental) and again for the estimated stay+taxes.. totaling only 265.28... Had it not been estimated it would have Authorized for 280.68. so no maam coincidence it was not. Hope that helps Your welcome. Have a great day now. see you next time

Check in was not good. We were with a group all going to a wedding and traveling some distance. We asked several time to be notified as soon as our rooms were ready. That did not happen. If I had not kept checking who knows what would have happened. The lobby is very small and we were directly in front of the check in desk. We were all pacing and obviously anxious. We could have at least been able to process check in so that we could go straight to our rooms but no. We had 20 minutes to completely dress for a formal event.

An early check in is always difficult to swing on weekends,especially saturdays due to it being the busiest day of the week for checkins. And fortunately we have been sold out for the last week. Was not very happy with this hotel for being a hilton. We got to the hotel and we were told that our upgrade room the toilet was out of order. We were given a standard room to only have the same issue with the toilet in that room. So got changed again. The carpet in the entire hotel was disgusting and dirty. The shower in our room in the cracks had mold. These bookings are not inexpensive for the hilton company to not invest and upgrade the hotel. Also for what is served at breakfast it should be included instead of paying extra.
