Explore the nine permanent exhibits in Spurlock Museum. The Central Core features themes essential to all of humanity and acts as a common thread that connects all the other exhibits, which are organized geographically. On the main floor, discover Indigenous North and South America and the Ancient Mediterranean. Continue up to the second floor and browse through East Asia, Southeast Asia, Oceania, Europe, Africa, Ancient Mesopotamia and Ancient Egypt.
Each exhibit features artifacts from the civilization it focuses on. Learn about the innovation of Native Americans and see their handiwork, such as teepees and earthenware. Find out how the Ancient Egyptians prepared for life after death and examine a mummy from the Roman Period. Check out ornate religious relics and ordinary everyday objects from cultures throughout Southeast Asia. Each exhibit offers a peek into a different way of life and together they offer the visitor powerful insights about humanity.

Find Spurlock Museum nestled within the campus of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Metered parking spaces are available on the surrounding streets. If you prefer to take public transportation, several bus routes pass by the museum. Note that while there is no food allowed inside, there are lots of dining options within a short walk of the museum.
Visit the museum throughout the year. It is closed on Mondays and has limited hours on Tuesdays and weekends. Admission is free, but donations are appreciated.
