Front dest closed at 5:00 so when we got there at 6:00 our keys were hanging on the front door. When we left at 9:00 the next morning the office was still closed. Had kitchenette but everywhere cracking and peeling. Bathroom window was open and wouldn't shut. Coffee pot still had coffee and grounds so didn't use. Ceiling light was burned out. TV rmote didn't work part of the time. Only good parts were front door parking, nice TV, and refrigerator that worked. Beds good.

Nice quiet hotel

Very cute, clean motel! Stayed here as a mid point on a road trip. Had really good restaurants within walking distance. Would stay gere again!

Affordable place to stay for Sturgis
Posted 18 Aug 2021 on HotelsIts a cute 70 year old motor lodge perfectly located on the main street in Spearfish South Dakota. Close to Sturgis, Deadwood and the gorgeous Spearfish Canyon.

So Loud

The WiFi didn’t reach our room, we had to go to the pool to do something as simple as read/respond to work emails. And So. Noisy. I have never stayed in a hotel that I could hear a bicycle pedaling by. Other rooms might’ve been better, but this stayed really soured me.

Thank you for your review. We do offer daily housekeeping service upon request. As with most other lodging options in the area - budget or luxury - this year has proven difficult and we have had to make some changes to services offered to keep our staff and guests safe. Anytime you need service, all you have to do is ask. Our Wi-Fi is ample enough to reach the entire property, but during this huge season you may experience lag times depending on what you're trying to load. Next time, request a larger room not as near Main Street. We are on the main road through town and are experiencing higher than normal volumes of traffic. Not much we can do about our popular location and the traffic volume. Maybe choose a more secluded location on your next visit. Best of luck in your future travels.

The staff was wonderful! The room smelled a little smoky, and the employee working tried to remedy it for us. The pool needed cleaning badly, and the room was hot (it said a/c was automatic, but it hardly ever switched on (we didn’t mention it). If you want a clean, no-frills place to stay, this is it.

It appears that you booked our most modestly price room. These rooms are small - but they do offer travelers such as yourself on a tight budget a clean, comfortable space for a quick overnight stop. In the future, book one of our larger rooms. Thanks for your booking.
