Very very noisy smelly rooms, dated single glazed windows, you hear every thing, outdated and smells, bins flip didn’t work, no cold water in bedroom. Shower to hot as no cold. Breakfast you pay for is a joke !! 1 bacon, 1 sausage and 1 egg and a mushroom cooked in water. You have to make your own toast from cheap bread

Good Afternoon Dr Peters,I was saddened to read your review and offer my sincere apologies about what you experienced whilst staying with us. As you can see on this platform and many others, the reviews we receive on a daily basis are generally speaking very positive and it saddens me greatly that this what not what you experienced.We have guests occupying this particular room on a regular basis, it is very popular due to the kitchenette, and have not been made aware of any issues regarding the temperature of the water. This is something that I will be looking into as a matter of urgency.Whilst I appreciate your dissatisfaction regarding the road noise and the single glazed windows, these are issues that are out of our control due to the location of the Hotel and the fact that we are Grade 2 listed so unable to change the windows we have currently. However should you have mentioned your issues surrounding this, we would of done all we could to move you to a quieter room that might have better suited your needs. We are a very approachable team and do all we can to make our guest stay as comfortable as possible but if your felt at any point this was not the case I can only offer my apologies. The road is usually very quiet in the evenings so I am unsure as to why it was so busy on this particular evening.The heating is something that is controlled by us and we do have it on a timer system to keep guests as comfortable as possible. We are aware that some guests feel the cold more than others and others do not like the rooms to be too hot so it is impossible to please everyone. The heating was active on the night in question and came on through out different intervals during the night. I have been over to the room in question to ensure that there was not an issue with the radiators and that the heat was being stopped from getting to you. The previous guests must have turned the radiators off by turning down the temperature gage on the side and this had not been picked up on due to the mild weather we have been experiencing. I have ensured that moving forward, this is now part of the housekeepers checks so we do not have any other guests experience an evening such as yours.We all work very hard here at the hotel and we are by no means "Faulty Towers". We are always looking at ways we can improve and rely on our customer feedback to see where we can make these improvements. As the hotel manager I can assure you that your comments have been taken on board and I care very deeply about the guests that stay with us. It is my wish that you had brought these issues to our attention and given us the chance to rectify the problems, I am not sure how you can say "bad management, No point in complaining as literally they won’t do nothing" when you did not give us the opportunity, saying nothing to us at all at any point. We stayed for just one night but made to feel very welcome by friendly and helpful staff. Room was wonderful and breakfast lovely.

We had a very nice 1 night stay. Rooms and Breakfast was great. Our dinner out was at The Moorings a fantastic Pub, outdoor patio and home cooked meals. Awesome Staff.

Lovely hotel and breakfast was great, lots of choice. The room was cosy and very clean. I will definitely stay again. We were visiting relatives so didn’t spend time in the bar area bug it looked very inviting. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Comfortable and clean room with a good breakfast and an easy stroll into Spalding . The only issue we found was it is on a busy road and you can hear the constant traffic.

We had a lovely visit to Spalding and Cley Hall was so welcoming. We will definitely be coming to stay again. My father lives near so it is also a perfect location for our visit. Thank you so much.

I booked a classic double for one person. On arrival the room faced the main road, the supplementary double glazing was missing on one window which i was later told should not be taken out as that window opened to wide fir safety. Another panel was not in the grooves so ineffective allowing noise in. The nightporter/handiman tried to rectify but couldnt, therefore this room had obviously not been checked and was not fit for purpose, in that traffic noise would not allow a good nights sleep. The only other room available was an executive double for which i had to pay a further £57.45 for the night, this room was quiet at the back but still had minor issues. On the whole the front of the hotel and rear garden are shabby, could do with a good tidy up, the area itself is not appealing. I had read the reviews before booking but im afraid i did not share the same experience.
