Disappointed...
Posted 3 Oct 2015Our room looked out onto a parking lot... Not the view I imagined. Our room also smelled bad. We tried to get a different room, but we were told the resort had no vacancies. However the parking lot was empty... Hmm...

Amazing weekend with my family!
Posted 24 Mar 2015 on Travelocity
Pros: Clean, comfortable, garage parking! Everything!
Cons: Not a thing!
Location: Cass Scenic Railroad, Greenbank, scenic drives through the West Virginia mountains!
The facilities were awesome! This was a beautiful get away with my family to reconnect with one another. What better than the beautiful mountains of West Virginia!

Posted 11 Mar 2015 on HotelsThe Soaring Eagle Lodge was great. I really enjoyed my stay. The three hot tubs outside were awesome. The staff at the concierge desks was helpful and nice. The only complaint I have about the Soaring Eagle Lodge are the storage lockers downstairs. Soaring Eagle lodge prohibits you to keep your skis and snowboards in the room. The storage lockers are made out of metal without a rubber mat at the bottom. If you put your skis or snowboard in the storage lockers without wiping it off completely, your skis or snowboard will rust. It would be helpful to have a rubber mat line the bottom of the metal lockers, or have towels in the storage room so that guests can wipe off their equipment before storing them.

Beware if staying off-season
Posted 15 Oct 2014 on HotelsWe stayed over the Columbus Day weekend, most facilities were closed which was a surprise. It was a very, very long way to go for groceries etc! Advertised WiFi Internet only worked in public areas, not in room. The resort is at the top of a mountain, it was shrouded in thick fog the whole weekend, beware! The room itself was excellent though.

Mountain top studio condo

Pros: Restaurant in the building. Underground parking. Daily towel/linen service.
Cons: Some advance warning of the Wifi situation would have been nice.
Location: We were there to play golf at the Raven course. Excellent course but pretty difficult, would not recommend it for the novice golfer.
Outstanding. Large, well furnished, clean. Huge bathroom, nice views from the deck. Wifi would have been nice but I believe that might be an issue with "quiet zone" around radio telescopte at the NRAO in Green Bank. There is internet connectivity available via ethernet port, you just need to connect directly. The condo did have an ethernet cable but we had to hunt around to find it.

Great Stay
Posted 21 Mar 2014 on HotelsNice, clean condo. Parking garage is great. Beautiful lodge. Rental shop 50' away. Only drawbacks: some units view the parking lot. Beginners need to take the bus to the village for ski school & bunny hills. Buses come by about every 15 mins.

ski in ski out
Posted 17 Mar 2014 on HotelsSoaring Eagle Lodge at Snowshoe Mtn. Resort is a great and the ONLY place to stay on the mountain for true convenience for skiing. It's a short distance from the Village at Snowshoe, but that was not an issue for us. The basement heated garage and ski lockers on the ground floor made it very convenient. If you desire high-end accommodations and true ski-in ski-out convenience, this is the place on top of the mountain to stay. Hotels.com gave us room rates that were $40 less per night than going through Snowshoe property management.
