I had the pleasure of staying two weeks at the Hotel Strand. The staff was wonderful, the location was very convenient, and the breakfast was so good. I will always here when visiting Sonderberg.

The location of this hotel is the best part with the hotel. However the hotel is getting old and the ventilation is very bad, extremly stuffy and no air in the rooms. No in room safe and very basic room over all. However the breakfast was nice and easy parking. The staff was not very charmig and the check out time is already at 11:00. If you ask for a late check out they will charge you 100DKK/hour. So bottomline is that there are better hotels to stay at in Sønderborg.

Nice view but uncomfortable bed

Typical conference hotel without any particular character. Superior room had great views overlooking the oceanfront but the bed was uncomfortable (squeaky and way too firm) and there was a smell from the bathroom - and I found long ginger hears in one of the chairs. Not delicate.

Restaurant not an option .

Checked in swiftly . Then asked what time last orders for the kitchen were . I was told in a sterling manner that the restaurant was FULL. As was a resident surely they could accommodate a single traveler . NO . I asked to speak with the manager and was told there wasn’t one. Terrible customer service was experienced. Therefore I was made to walk into town and find an alternative place for dinner . After my walk and dinner I came back to the bar for a night cap. There is no full time bar person . It is run by the staff who wait tables . Therefore when you do require a drink you have to go and find someone to serve you . The rooms are old and need upgrading . Breakfast was okay but nothing to write home about .

God oplevelse

Ved ankomsten til hotellet blev vi mødt af en meget venlig og imødekommende receptionist. Vores hotelværelse levede op til vores forventninger med en god seng og et fint badeværelse (dog manglede der udsugning i sidstnævnte). Vi spiste i hotellets restaurant, hvor vi igen blev mødt af et venligt personale. Maden var perfekt. Vi kommer gerne igen

Pænt hotel men langsom service i restauranten

Hotellet har en god beliggenhed, og personalet forekom venligt. Vores værelse var dog nærmest som en sauna, og selv om vi slukkede for varmeapparatet og åbnede et vindue, bidrog gulvvarmen på badeværelset (som vi ikke kunne finde ud af at slukke for), til at opretholde en høj temperatur på værelset. Vi spiste en to-retters menu i hotellets restaurant. Hovedretten blev serveret hurtigt, men vi måtte vente 15 minutter før vores tomme tallerkner blev rydtet af bordet, vi ventede yderligere 10 minutter på desserten, før vi gjorde personalet opmærksom på den manglende dessert, og da vi havde ventet yderligere 15 minutter forlod vi vores bord, stadig uden at have fået desserten serveret. Vi henvendte os til personalet og bad dem ikke skrive desserten på regningen, hvilket de heller ikke gjorde. Men at vente 40 minutter på en dessert, der er for meget.
