"Hotel is next to the shore so if it's a nice day, you can walk and the view will be amazing but if it's raining, have in mind that the walk to your room is open space (no roof). Btw, the apple map drives you further, the hotel reception is at the restaurant."

"My spouse and I booked the Fosshotel Hellnar as a stop on our Iceland road trip. It ended up being the perfect location to stop after 1 day travel from Reykjavik and partway around the Snaefellsnes peninsula. We were cold and tired by that point and the Fosshotel was so comfortable on our arrival. The fireplace in the lobby was very inviting. The room was spacious, comfortable and the heated bathroom floor tiles were such an appreciated luxury to us that day. We enjoyed dinner at the hotel...

"I came in early winter. Very much the low season. In winter the place feels truly remote, a refuge from the world, which is what I came for. There are a couple easy thing they can do for low-season guests below. The building interior was nice and warm. "The outside of the building looks terrible. Abandonbed. I thought my husband was joking when he said that was it. But the inside was completely redone and surprisingly modern and clean. Communication was terrible, but thank goodness the couple who cleans was there and they were a huge help, otherwise we wouldn't have been able to get our access code. "

"The caretaker was nice enough to offer us a pan and some salt for cooking although these stuff should have been available in the room anyway. There was no hair blower in bath room. The curtain on the windows couldn't even block the light and made it difficult to continue sleeping in the morning. The information given prior to arrival was wrong and it was embarrassing to knock the door of other guests when looking for caretaker. The good thing is that there is a playground just down the house...
