Dolina Charlotty Resort & Spa for the whole family
Posted 29 Aug 2017 on HotelsWe spent two nights at Dolina Charlotty not knowing what to expect. It was our second time in Poland but our first outside a major city. We came for a concert, one of two draws for the resort (the other being the zoo). We were literally the only non-Polish people and the only ones without children but they made us feel comfortable and welcome. Although it is largely geared towards families with kids we found enough to keep us busy for two days leading up to our concert. It is a town of it's own, boasting a zoo and an amphitheater, which has a capacity of 12,000, horse back riding, a lake with fishing, paddle boats, and kayaks, nature walks, zip lining, tree houses, camping, a lakeside restaurant/bar, two restaurants in the main hotel, and a bar downstairs called the Rock Pub that includes a bowling alley and ping pong. For indoor fun there is a large pool, hot tub/sauna, and fitness room, as well as a small game room for the little ones, and spa treatments for pampering the parents. The rooms were clean and fairly spacious. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was amazing, spanning several tables worth of delicious fresh food. And the concert was great (of course based on the performer, Patti Smith). I don't think we'll be back, only because it is a little bit off the beaten path if you are not a local. But it was well worth the detour. The only downside we found was there is not a single ATM or way to get cash anywhere on the premises.
