Enjoy a magnificent view over Stockholm on a gondola that travels to the top of the world’s biggest spherical building.

Marvel at the uninterrupted views of Stockholm, its islands and coastline while riding the SkyView. This exterior elevator moves slowly up the outside of the Ericsson Globe, a live music arena and sports stadium that resembles a giant golf ball. A trip on the SkyView is one of the most memorable ways to experience Stockholm’s cityscape and offers superb photo opportunities.

The attraction features two glass spherical gondolas that move in opposite directions on the building’s southern wall. Each gondola has a capacity for 16 standing passengers and a round trip takes about 20 minutes. The highest point of the ride is 425 feet (130 meters) above sea level. Inaugurated in 2010, today it welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors every year.

As you rise you’ll be treated to a bird’s-eye image of the Johanneshov district. Look down into the adjacent Tele2 Arena, which is a multipurpose soccer stadium, concert venue and convention center. Panoramic city views await at the highest point of the ride. A map inside the pod indicates major landmarks such as Djurgården island, Hammarbybacken urban ski slope and the 30,000-island archipelago called Skärgården.

Operating predominately as a tourist attraction, the gondola can also be rented for private events. On any given day you might see birthday parties and weddings taking place in one of the pods.

Located in the Johanneshov district, the gondola is easily reached via Stockholm’s extensive public transportation network. The Globen bus and subway station is just a 5-minute walk away. Drivers can use one of several nearby metered parking lots. There’s a shopping mall, bars, cafés and restaurants close to the attraction.

SkyView is open daily and trips depart every 10 minutes during the opening hours. Discounted admission is available for retirees and children under the age of 12. Purchase your tickets online to select your chosen time and avoid queues. Entrance is free with the Stockholm Pass, a sightseeing card that grants access to more than 60 attractions.
