Not a 4 star
Posted 26 Jan 2022 on HotelsThe host is lovely and welcoming. Unfortunately our room had ants when we arrived, we were simply directed to use bug spray which was in the room, which was a less than ideal response. Bathroom was a little dirty.
The balcony backing onto the bush land was lovely and hearing the nature was calming.
Overall, did the job for a one night last minute stay, but I wouldn’t say it’s 4 star or worth what we paid.

Yes, as we are located in a native forest, ants can be part of the nature experience, especially with the recent rain. Actually, your husband asked for the insect spray and we obliged. Unfortunately, Byron Bay is expensive in the January holiday season.

Basic older property
Posted 15 Jan 2022 on HotelsThe property is older and has more wear and tear than presented. Also the rooms are small, and there was significant noise from other rooms. Fine if you need to be near Byron Bay but more of a basic place to stay.

Yes, we are a forest retreat where the focus is on reconnecting with the beauty of nature therapy and not so much on the superficial "brass and glass".

!!!!!Lovely!!!!!
Posted 1 Nov 2021 on HotelsMy boyfriend and I went here as a birthday present for myself. To sum it up, our time spent at Azabu was fantastic! TP took excellent care of us throughout the whole stay. I had a lovely, deep massage and felt so relaxed afterwards. The venue was serene and immersed within the forest as our balcony looked onto the trees. My favourite part of the stay was the wonderful breakfast brought to our rooms. We loved our time spent there!

Excellent!
Posted 15 Jun 2021 on HotelsFantastic place with a wonderful host. Close enough to town for ease and far enough away for quiet. Beautiful place all round.

We had a great week at Azabu. It is a unique boutique experience, small scale (only 5 villas) but great communal facilities (pool, sauna, spa) and it made for very personalised service. With a rainforest outlook from the room, it was very relaxing. Thanks to TP and the team for a good holiday. Recommend for couples looking for a relaxing long weekend.

The hotel is in a nice location and is generally really nice, the walls are a little thin and you can hear what is happening in the rooms along side you as well as outside but generally it’s nice
However the attitude and customer service skills of the staff needs a massive overhaul, for this reason I would probably re consider if I would stay there again

Nice stay
Posted 4 Oct 2020 on HotelsWe enjoyed our 1 night stay at the Azabu. The man at check in was very nice and welcoming and the room itself was good although could do with a little updating. The garden was a nice touch although there was a bamboo area that could be utilised much better as it looked unkept and uninviting. It’s nice to be secluded but also conveniently close to the centre of Byron Bay.
