"This is the second time that I have stayed at the Merihovi hotel. Room was spacious and clean. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. I would stay here again if I go back to Kemi."

"Hotel is a bit remote but by car it doesn’t matter. Clean basic room, a bit too warm even if it was not hot weather. There is a fan though (if you can sleep with that). Very good breakfast. Perfect for our one night, good place considering the price."

"This was a complete waste of money and time.1 they had no staff other than the manager and a so called cook The rooms were not clean the smoke alarms did not work and the door locks wouldn’t lock. The beds were grubby and needed changing no clean sheets the food served was not up to standard the manager said he had lost his staff before we arrived they all took Christmas holidays entertainment was a pool table we had to rely on trips to the main Santa Claus village on a 140 kilometre round trip and we were time restricted The trips cost us over 200 euros daily. We ended up leaving after 3 and a half days booking up an apartment near the main thoroughfare at a cost of 800 euros it saved our sanity and our disabled daughter and managed to do the things we wanted The facilities at arctic magic should have had a spa and sauna none of these worked How did you ad a company put this hotel on your system is beyond us we will be looking to claim back a substantial amount of money for this holiday My wife had suffered bites to her legs and thought it was DVD But looks like bed bugs. "We had an amazing time over Christmas 2023. The villa is modern with all expected facilities and more(impressive pantry contents provided), the sauna and Hot tub were used frequently with views outside that you would only imagine on a Christmas postcard. Kimmo(owner) was excellent throughout our stay and was always available to answer questions. Nearest supermarket is 10-15 minutes away and includes a store where you can buy alcoholic drinks. Kalle and Pete were great as snowmobile guides - I would thoroughly recommend this option. Local Reindeer/husky rides available and adds to the Christmas feel. We had Christmas dinner prepared and delivered and made life very easy and relaxing. Good quality Winter clothing is available to hire from the Villa which is great for international travelers who might not otherwise have any cold weather clothing. We used a hire car from Enterprise(Rovaniemi Airport), but a private driver is available if required via the Villa. 1 hour drive from Rovaniemi on easy main road so I would recommend a hire car, gives you more freedom and a sense of adventure for the family. The fact that our family didn’t want to leave is a great sign, and we would love to visit again!"
