Attend an old bluegrass or country music concert in this 1880s-style theme park full of exhilarating rides, intriguing shows and a friendly atmosphere.

Silver Dollar City is a thrilling amusement park with a late 19th-century theme that induces nostalgia and charm. It is known for its clean and friendly setting, with plenty of food and shopping options. Bring the whole family to indulge in the thrilling sensations of the roller coasters, water rides and caves.

Embrace the 1880s style of the theme park that takes inspiration from the gold rush and mining industries of pioneers. Nosedive down five stories into the water at top speed on the American Plunge. Test your resistance on the twirling thrill of the Electro Spin.

Toddlers will enjoy riding the cute model animals of the Elephant March and playing make believe as firefighters in the FireHouse Play Place, while Fire in the Hole offers a scary, suspense-ridden ride for brave members of the family.

Attend some of the daily shows, such as Lucky the Rescue Dog. Listen to old-time country music songs from McHaffie’s Homestead. Other highlights include a comedy street troupe, music recitals in an amphitheater and the Wild West Show.

Take a break for lunch at one of the countless restaurants adorning the park. Choose from the range of eclectic treats in the pizzerias, bakeries, grills and ice cream factories. Browse items available in the many traditional shops including a candy factory, an apple butter shop and a magic store.

The complex first opened in 1960 and is owned by the Herschend Family Entertainment company, which runs several amusement parks. It opens from mid-March until the end of the year from morning until late afternoon, before closing in January and February. Pay a fee for tickets and get discounts for children and seniors. Season passes are also available.

Silver Dollar City is just outside Branson in the southwestern corner of Missouri. Drive west from Branson’s town center for 9 miles (15 kilometers) to get here in about 20 minutes. See nearby sights, such as Moonshine Beach Park, the College of the Ozarks and the Titanic Museum.
