Siho Playa is a quaint and secluded beach area far away from the bustle of city life. The sandy strand lies in utter tranquility, offering views of fishermen and their vessels. Rent kayaks from under the thatched roofs of the huts dotted around this beach.
The beach itself is more about charm and seclusion than luxury. Clamber over the clumpy sand and find a hilltop spot to enjoy the view. Bring food for a picnic and snap photos of the jagged coastline, with its dry grassy hill. Discover intriguing rock formations jutting out from the water and skim stones from rocky outcrops. Admire the sparkling blue-green hues of the water as the waves lap the beach.
You can stay at the Tucán Hotel or remain closer to nature at one of the colonial haciendas facing the beach. Relax by the hotel’s swimming pool and play a game of ping-pong. Enjoy a meal in Los Arrecifes restaurant and bar.
Travel north to the nearby fishing town of Seybaplaya. Relax on one of the pristine beaches and enhance your tan. Watersports operators rent out equipment and kayaks to take out on the placid sea. Have a meal of octopus, dogfish, grouper or bass from the seafood restaurants for a taste of the local flavors.
