Communication really lacked at this property. I booked 1 room for 2 nights for them to call me and say it wasn’t available so they would upgrade for one night and then move me the next day. Only one person spoke English and was always busy.
No one showed us to our room, told us where or how to get breakfast the following day that was included.
The tv didn’t work and after messaging on WhatsApp I was ignored.
power went out which is common so no issue; but our Air Con didn’t work when it came back on. Again WhatsApp was ignored but eventually started to work during the night.
I ordered French fries from the menu at the pool and as no one spoke English assumed they weren’t that much as I watched them take them out of the freezer and into the air fryer in front of me, upon check out found out they were $8AU! When I raised it with him that it was more than the meal I bought in town the night before he just smirked and said that’s the price.
Construction going on that wasn’t mentioned.
So all in all the bed was comfy, breakfast was cute when we figured it out and the shower wasn’t great so wouldn’t recommend.

Excellent stay in a lovely setting with swimming pool and nature pond. Clean and comfortable room with AC and WiFi. Lovely local breakfast provided each morning. Within walking distance to local restaurants or transport readily available if required. I also walked to Sigiriya Rock from the resort as it was close by. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful organising a trip to Dambulla and also to Pidurangala Rock for sunrise which were awesome. Overall I had a lovely stay and felt very welcome. The only thing to mention is the shower pressure is not great however this is due to the remote location and didn’t impact my stay.
Thank you very much

Perfect stay for Sigiriya

This hotel is absolutely amazing and a great place to stay near Sigiriya rock. I stayed 1 night in Deluxe Chalet and 4 nights in one of their beautiful Deluxe Villas. The rooms are very clean and spacious, and the hospitality of Dishan and his family is absolutely outstanding. Large most delicious breakfast each morning. The hotel also has a great service for organizing their own tours, like jeep safaris to one of the local national parks or half-day and day tours to the ancient cities of Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa as well as the Dambulla Buddhist cave temples. Their car for the tours even has WiFi available during the tours which comes very handy when looking up internet information etc. while on the road. Hotel is about 10 min walking distance to the Sigiriya village (with about 10 restaurants and 10 convenient stores, as well as HNB bank ATM machine) and Sigiriya rock fortress can be easily reached by 5 min drive with tuktuk, taxi or 15-20 min walk. In summary the Palmyra Nature Resort hotel is a perfect place to stay in Sigiriya for visiting the Sigiriya rock and ancient cities of the cultural triangle area of Sri Lanka, and with its wonderful hospitality and delicious food the perfect place to stay and highly recommended for travelers looking for a place to stay near the Sigiriya rock.
