Was reluctant to book this hotel after reading some of the negative reviews. We were so pleasantly surprised. The treehouse was beautiful clean, comfortable and in a beautiful property where elephants, monkeys, buffalo and fire flys can be seen <3 Even with nature, is close to amenities and the manager Mahinda ordered good priced tuktuks takinf us to a lovely area for dinner, which was catered for the foreign tourist and the food delicious and vibe amazing :) to top it all off i had an injury which needed stitches (not properties fault) and this was very late at night. Mahinda rushed me to hospital with his friend who drove the tuk tuk and stayed up with me all night and translated on my behalf to making sure that i was treated and safe. They both stayed up all night and didnt expect anything in return. Really lovely kind people especially Mahinda who seems to mainly run the properly on his own and is probably ran ragged but never complains. I would say that in general if you are expecting extreme luxury in Sri Lanka , that you are unlikely to get this, especially at the current time when Sri Lanka is really suffering from different issues and is recovering from the tourist industry being completely shut down with covid. The people are amazing and honestly couldnt do more to help, Mahinda an absolute angel, come to Sri lanka and enjoy it as it is now and help it recover, they deserve it ! Give this property a chance please, better than most in Sri Lanka !!

Many Thanks for your response and support given to us. Being closed for all most 4 years due to bombing happened in Sri Lanka, COVID-19 and economic down turn, we tried to start the resort gradually. Like you mentioned this is a place for nature lovers who wants to enjoy staying in a quite unique place with the nature still with other facilities.Hope you have experienced with elephants, monkeys, peacocks, dears, many different birds and other small animals within the hotel.Good to hear that you have been well looked after by the manager. Thanks again for your stay and looking forward to welcome you again in the near future.

cheapest room with pool near Sigirya

Posted 17 Mar 2019 on Hotels
+ Swimming pool (great in day & also when lit up at night); hotel set in large garden; manager friendly & spoke good English - Breakfast very average; chalets have tiny bathrooms and little noise insulation, definitely not 25sqm, book other room types 3km to Sigiriya, 300Rs in tuk-tuk, or 14R in bus every 30 mins (also to Dambullah)

These pictures you posted not from the hotel premises. This hotel is a brand new hotel and the pictures you posted are from somewhere else. Hotel has a good coverage of WiFi and there might be occasions if the connections are slow depending on the number of connections. Do not tell lies about the hot water. We have brand new heating systems and air conditions. Bugs outside is true since it is an issue in the Sigiriya area due to to near by forests which attracts insects. But inside rooms you do not have insects. Hotel has been fully booked since 1st of December and do not tell lies about its cleaning!

Awful - avoid at all cost

Posted 14 Jan 2018 on Hotels
This was one of my worst hotel experiences ever, with about 40 nights of hotel stays a year. Check-in was a manual, hand-written process. There was a general sense of disorganisation, and some discussion about whether the room was paid or not. Our driver seemed shocked that they did not have driver accommodation and thought the room they proposed to him was too dirty - he decided to leave straight away. The room-type we booked, a separate structure around the pool, was not available, and we were shown to a wooden tree-house with air conditioning that did not work properly, and which was not very clean. At the reception area, a group of very unhappy-looking guests who were waiting to leave told us that there was never anyone around to help. In the few hours we stayed, there were plenty of people milling around but nobody interested to help much (although they did carry our bags, after a wait). The staff claimed the wifi was temporarily down, but I think this was a lie since the router equipment (and only computer in sight) was lying heaped in a corner, unplugged and covered with enough dust to suggest it hadn't been moved for some time. Despite allegedly being full, the place was suspiciously silent. The restaurant looked unappetising, although we did not eat there. As night fell an hour or so later, the power failed and we decided to cut our losses, call our driver back and leave ASAP. Staff were at best indifferent. Avoid at all cost.

This must be from a competitor. He complains about the power failure. This is a brand new hotel and has 1 new 125KVA generator on site. How come you say no power! I suggest you to visit the hotel and verify it rather than providing false information. Air conditions are all brand new and how do you complain they didnt work. Probably you didnt know how to operate it. Restaurant provides food for 250 guests everyday and more than 15 leading travel agents work wit us. WiFi might be down if it was a rainy day since its quite common in the region where we do not have control over. But generally, we got 85% satisfaction with WiFi.

We had a very nice stay. The staff were very helpful and kind. The rooms are simple but very clean and the beds were incredibly comfortable with lovely clean crisp sheets.
