Pros: The location was great and the views were magnificent from outdoors. A soccer pitch kept our son entertained.
Cons: The dogs next door were a nuisance and they were annoying especially at night time. I needed sleeping pills as I was awoken each night by barking.
Location: Sienna is beautiful and there is much to see and do.
We loved this region and we enjoying visiting the beautiful city of Sienna. So much to see and do. A clean, beautiful town and the locals should be proud. The surrounding country side is so pretty and I could pack up and move to this beautiful part of Italy. It is an area that should be visited. The local food produce is delicious and we enjoyed visiting the cafes in Sienna. We relied on buses as we did not have a car. I believe a car is essential.

Posted 3 Jun 2012 on HotelsGreat location for this picturesque farmstay. Great views of the surrounging hills. Good restaurant, but served typical Italian and not Tuscan specialties. Price was reasonable, also because there was a small kitchen in the apartment for breakfast and some meals. The kitchen was not furnished though and we had to buy even the basics like salt, sugar and oil. Also, our rooms were seperate from the pool and main building and the interior of the apartment was quite rustic and could have been decorated with a bit more care. I would return here for the location and good views, but ask for a different apartment.

Rustic self-catering at a fantastic site in Tuscany
Posted 3 Aug 2010La Grotta is a fantastic site with large grounds including vineyard and olive groves. There are lots of lawned areas with outdoor seating and a good sized pool. A barbecue is also available.
It is situated about 5 miles from Siena. There is a bus to Siena running about hourly - cheap - but you have to buy tickets in advance.
My first taste of Italian self-catering. The appartment had rustic charm, but was basic by British/French self-catering standards. The toilet/shower was accessed through one of the two bedrooms. No easy chairs at all so when it got dark/cold outside you had to sit on a wooden bench or your bed !!
Owner was very helpful with local advice on places to visit. He even went to get us bus tickets when we were stranded due to a car hire problem. Auto Europa let us down badly (not booked through Expedia !!) and we had to go by bus to Firenze for a replacement car only to find that they didn't have one.
A good place to relax by the pool/in the grounds but a good centre for visiting Siena and Tuscan hill-top towns.
Owner provides breakfast (5 Euro) and an evening Tuscan meal (18 Euro) but we did not use this service.

Struttura bellissima, con un paesaggio magnifico. Personale gentile e disponibile, stanze accoglienti e puliti. Molto vicina alla splendida città di Siena raggiungibile in meno di 10 minuti in auto, con disponibilità di comodi parcheggi a pagamento.

Un bell'agriturismo su un poggio. Unico punto negativo il caldo, la.nostra unita era senza aria condizionata quindi il caldo si sentiva

Struttura confortevole, personale gentile e disponibile, possibilità di cenare ottimamente nella struttura a prezzo decisamente modico. Relax e mini appartamenti a disposizione rendono il soggiorno ottimo.

Personale davvero molto gentile e disponibile, peccato per tutto il resto. Il posto in sé è molto bello e caratteristico, purtroppo però gli appartamenti sono puliti ma non curati. Porte difficili da chiudere, elettrodomestici scollegati e impossibili da accendere per mancanza di prese adeguate, lampadine mancanti o non funzionanti dai lampadari... Il tutto anche sorvolabile se non fosse per il proprietario della struttura che dovrebbe decisamente contenersi e ridimensionarsi.
Ah, non ho capito perché in tutto il paese si effettua la raccolta differenziata mentre nella struttura c'è un unico grande raccoglitore dell'indifferenziata
