"Stayed here for two nights on 30 Nov and 1 Dec. The hotel has def seen some years but everything was clean and tidy. Rooms were spacious and still had a standing shower, though you would likely not be using it much. Was lucky enough to be given a room at level 4 which is also where the 7 private baths were located at. Each private bath had a different theme (eg some were made of stone, some of wood etc), and it never felt too busy that you had to wait for long to use one. Breakfast and dinner...

"Great place for families visiting Shimoda and Izu Peninsula. Definitely a hotel catering to Japanese tourists, but with a little Japanese and respect the staff is very friendly and works with you. Some of the staff spoke some English. Bathhouse, arcade, and hotel amenities were great. Walking distance to everything downtown and easy spot to drive to other locations. Would definitely stay here again with family on vacation. "

"I did not have high expectations but this was worse than I thought it would be. There was a lot of food but it was not very good, both dinner and breakfast. Onsen was nice but not as clean as I would have liked. Different brands of soap, shampoo and conditioner but no face wash, no hair brush or other small amenities. "

"The town is lovely and the hotel is the perfect place to stay for an overnight trip, or even the weekend! Staff are incredibly helpful, kind and friendly, they offer free toiletries, even pyjamas to borrow if you forgot yours. Breakfast had a nice variety and there is water, tea and coffee available 24/7. The cleanliness was impeccable, as well as the service! One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at for the price ."
