The hotel was about 15 to 20mins walk to JR shinjuku station. Hotel room was clean but bathroom was not user friendly for elderly as its bulit one step up. So have to climb up and down when need to use the bathroom.

The place is beautiful and the food good. Nothing to do around the hotel and the walk to Shinjuku Station or shopping area is not safe, you have to walk through a homeless campsite on your way to Shinjuku center. We opted to take a taxi every time we need to go shopping or sightseeing.

The Knot Hotel Shinjuku is very convenient for international travelers. The staff speaks many languages and are friendly and helpful. The rooms are small but pleasant and comfortable. At the price point, this hotel is very good. The breakfast options are excellent and the in hotel bakery has delicious breads and other delicious items. We have stayed here twice and will return next time we visit Tokyo.

I usually book all hotels closed to the train station for easy transportation. It looked closed by the Shinjuku train station on the internet when I booked this hotel. It is right across from the Central Park and is 10-15 minutes walk from the west exit of the train station. The walk would be OK if it was not raining and cold at night. We ended up taking taxi a lot to and from the station/hotel. The hotel lobby is very crowded with a lot of backpacker travelers and group tours. There is a bakery in the lobby but it opens 8 am to 7 pm. We wanted to get some pastries for breakfast but they were not open and we had to leave the hotel early for sightseeing. By the time we came back, they were already closed. There are not a lot of dining options nearby unless you go back to the train station area. The staff were helpful and the hotel doesn't charge for overnight luggage storage.
