This is just an average hotel room - definitely nothing fancy or exceptional. What we did find extremely disappointing was someone else's food still in the refrigerator and someone else's hair on the walls of the shower. There was one pleasant surprise - a very nice Japanese breakfast the morning of our checkout. However, if we have the choice, we will not stay here again.

Slightly overprice hotel.

The hotel was good and clean except it was a bit far from Tomamu Hoshino resort if you are not travelling by car. The rate was a bit on the high side for a 3 star hotel.

Just nice for 3 person

Posted 2 Sep 2018 on Hotels
We were here late at night and left early in the morning. Room was just nice for 3 person. However the linens at the loft area are dirty and don’t look like it had been changed. There’s no air conditioning in room and there will be bug flying in if we open the window. So it is quite stuffy in room at the middle of the night. The location is convenient for the unkai at clubmed. About 15mins drive.

Basic family style hotel

Tomamu is a place of concentrated development - all the activities in Hoshino, Tower, Alpha Village, Club med (all in same area of the ski, gondola activity JR Train station is a secluded station with no JR ticket station n no heater. Once u alighted from train, just take the so-called free shuttle (Guest only bus by Hoshino / Tower/ Alpha village ) to spend your day if u arrived before 3pm (unable to check in Petit hotel). Breakfast at hotel is okay. Dinner wise please have at Main activity area (Hoshino/tower area) . If not, please try to see if u can make eArlier reservation. If not the dinner at hotel only have bbq (mainly lamb meat, n few little pieces of chicken) - not nice (poor marination). Staff average quite friendly but does not feel the true sincerity nor service. Realised many did not post in detail n hope this review allow no one to be stranded in a -9 degree celsius at the station.

If you not driving, train station is very far away

Posted 27 Jul 2017
Pros: The ambience and the quality Japanese service
Location: There is river rafting and the Unkai Terrace nearby.
We arranged for pick up at the Tomamu station. The hotel is beautiful and looks at a hotel in Switzerland. There is facilities for rafting in a nearby river. We stayed for a night and have a delicious table BBQ dinner. Unless you drive, the Tomamu JR train station is about 20 minutes away. The place is quiet and cosy. The owner and staff are very friendly.
