The Granvia is an excellent hotel if you are coming into Kyoto on the Shinkansen. It is located right in Kyoto Station and is easily walkable to get there with luggage. The hotel is beautiful and very clean. The staff were all very nice and helpful. We would definitely stay there again if we are in Kyoto.

This hotel is actually located above the Kyoto main rail station, you cannot get a better location to base your travel, only a short distance from all the areas you will wamt to explore, the room was huge compared to other places we stayed in Japan, the staff could not have been more helpful and pleasant, loved our stay here

Easy to navigate, close to transportation, lots of local shop and dine options

The staff were very nice, and the location is fantastic. The hotel is essentially part of Kyoto Station, so lots of places to shop and eat. It is also makes it easy to catch a train or subway. Our room faced the train station side and there was some railyard noise that may annoy some. The other side of the hotel faces the Kyoto tower and a busy street, so I am not sure if it is any better.

This was a great location for doing lots of trips on both JR and subway. It had everything! Shopping, dining, entertainment, exploring the station - whole family loved it.
