Average Hotel near to site scenes
Posted 13 Apr 2016It's a average and nice to stay in budget hotel. The staff is humble and cooperative, room service is good and timely attendance.

Only stay here if it's your last resort
Posted 30 Jun 2015 on HotelsThe toilet has a weird smell.
Phone doesn't work, there was a sign telling us to dial a cellphone number instead of using the landline.
Wifi is switched on only upon request.
No soap, shampoo, toothpaste. Buy your own.

Pros: Nothing except the view.
Cons: Everything
Location: In Shimla there is lots....nothing near this hotel.
Reading Expedia's inclusions which said it had own bathroom facilities which it did except a shower or tub or hot water. That it is was in Shimla which it was 10 Klm away. Breakfast was included which there was none. No towels, toilet paper soap on arrival. No wifi as advertised, I had to sit in their office to do work. Much more. Very disappointed in Hotel and especially Expedia.

Nice Hotel
Posted 30 Dec 2014I arrived early in the morning on day 1 and was late on last day and the hotel manager did not make a fuss and provided the room to me. He also made sure we get food after dinner timings specified in the hotel menu. The intercom was not working therefore he provided his own number and never made a fuss even if I called him late night or early morning. The hotel is clean and the view from the balcony is amazing. It is slightly far from mall road therefore make sure you have your own ride. It was a nice experience, Thanks to Sharma ji.

Good location for overnight and hop to other sites
Posted 1 Apr 2013 on HotelsThe hotel is located at good altitude and rooms facing the scenic beauty is lovely. But most time one would sleep and hop to the next nearby sites like kufri (just < 10km) from here. Dont expect cards and Wifi to work, though the hotels website says complimentary WiFi.

Worst Stay in Shimla
Posted 22 Jun 2011 on HotelsThe stay at wood park is like staying in jail. I learnt a good lesson from this stay. The holidays should be spent at a place which is more comfortable and relaxing than your home. Why would someone travel 350 kms to stay in a hotel like Wood park which smells like a public toilet and maintained like a public toilet.
We are compromising all through our lives on every front. The vacations are meant to get away from these compromises, relax and live the way you are. So, I strongly recommend not to stay at such a place.

The Not in Shimla Hotel
Posted 7 Jul 2010Imagine our surprise when we arrived at Hotel Woodpark only to find that it wasn't in Shimla but in a neighboring village! We were there to see the sights in Shimla and had read in one of the review that this hotel was a 15 minute walk to Christ Church. Instead we ended up having to take a 15 minute taxi ride each way to get to Shimla. This added a lot of cost to our hotel. In addition, I do not think that this hotel was worth what we paid through Expedia. I have traveled and lived in India extensively and have never been so disappointed with a mid-range hotel. On the upside, the staff are extremely helpful and the view from our hotel was gorgeous. If you don't mind being a good ways outside Shimla this is an ok hotel, but be sure you don't over pay!
