Beautiful surroundings but no food available in bar or restaurant as so many functions going on. We arrived 17.30 after more than 4 hours of travel

I don't like the new booking where breakfast is not included.

We had a problem with the shower, the management and staff were excellent and even though the hotel was fully booked for a wedding, they dealt with it efficiently and moved us rooms.

This is a great place to stay if you want to give yourself a treat that is outside the norm of hotels. My Mum and I really enjoyed the interesting building, the friendly staff and a great dinner included breakfast. The property is undergoing some upgrades, but nothing noisy or disturbing. The bathroom we had could do with some hooks, towel rails and a shelf (caddy) in the shower - but it was all very modern.

Like a night at the museum!
Posted 12 Aug 2024 on HotelsThere was a wedding on so noone was at reception for about 10 minutes. My room had water damage on the ceiling. My hairdryer didn't work. The hotel was loud until quite late because of the wedding. My room was near the breakfast room and the staff were very loud in the morning from 7am! But the hotel is so unique and so special that I can forgive all of that. It has such history and integrity. It's like staying in a museum of socialism. I will stay here again!
