Overall a good stay at this hotel, but deco was old and needing of replacement which staff mentioned to me is in the process of being done. For the money paid, it was fine for me. My room had a good shower and facilities.

Decades ago this was a first class hotel but time has told on it. It is virtually only a B& B now. I wouldn’t stay or recommend it

I booked 3 rooms 2 were a good size but tiny bathroom and one small room. dated but comfy bed and pillows ( could have done with a spare though). Only real complaints in my room was that the curtains didn’t meet properly in the middle and the small shaft of light unfortunately fell directly across my face. My mum and dad in law booked separately and were in another part of the hotel. the ceiling sprung a leak right over my father in laws head at 4 am due to heavy rain. The hotel did give however give a partial refund. Good cooked breakfast.

The stairs going to the top floor is not meeting the safety standard. The steps are extremely narrow and not lift to the top floor. It is not accessible to everyone.

Short 2 night midweek stay
Nice location, within walking distance to some lovely pubs and restaurants. Rooms are perfect and great value. There are plenty of stairs with it being several houses converted together, but this is mentioned in the listing. Staff are friendly and rooms clean and modern.

Very basic hotel with bare brick walls, single glazed dirty windows, and a cheap / well used mattress. Not particularly clean - hair on toilet seat, grimy windows. No air conditioning or fridge, and no plugs near the bed. Shower ran cold after 90 seconds. Also could hear in graphic detail everything the couple next door were up to. With parking charge my double room was almost as expensive as a town centre hotel, although nowhere near as well equipped.

For a low end option near the University of Sheffield, this is a great choice as you can walk to the student union in 10-15 mins. Parking can get challenging as the lot is small, and the street fills. Close to shops.

Central location nice enough.
Nice hotel, friendly staff. Room was ok but no food and bar was limited to space behind check in. Showers and bathroom were nice. Would stay again if at the right price.

Convenient but not the best stay!
The rooms and hotel are average and looking tired could do with a refresh! The rooms don’t have air conditioning and they were very hot without the window open but at night the passers by were very noisy so was not easy to get to sleep! The breakfast was ok but only the choice of a full English or cold buffet no options for poached egg on toast or anything else! It was a convenient place to stay for the 4 of us attending a gig at the arena as tram stops are close and was easy to get there and back! However when we had already booked we were then informed that parking was £9 per day which was not mentioned previously! Probably wouldn’t recommend it and probably wouldn’t stay again. No decent bar service just bottled drinks from reception at expensive prices! The whole stay was overpriced for what it was!!

Disappointing rooms and service!
The hotel could do a refresh as it looks a bit tired! There is no aircon so the rooms were hot but the area was noisy due to university students nearby so having the window open was difficult to sleep but too hot to sleep with the window shut! The breakfast was ok but paying £9 per night for parking wasn’t mentioned until after we booked! It was a handy location for teams to and from the arena which is why we chose it but wouldn’t recommend it for anything else and probably wouldn’t stay again!

Very nice unique hotel to literally get lost in, only issue was the rooms were very warm and the window did not open, a fan was provided but it was still a very hot room. Not a big deal just pack some extra water. Tepid shower without great water pressure but again not a massive deal. Would stay again good value.

Average Rutland stay
Amazing friendly staff all very helpful . But it’s my fault I should have checked the hotel had a restaurant. It did not and all I was offered was cheese pizza . And no bar . So overall because of this average . I left a day early because of this . But location is excellent car pk very tight if you have a big car be careful . And £9 a day day for parking was a surprise . But staff made up for it.
