Christian is lovely aswell
Stay here for the legends of a married couple that make you feel welcome and appreciated

Keith and Christine who own this hotel, are very friendly and welcoming. The property is in a perfect location. Short walk to beach, Old Village, transport. The place is spotlessly clean. There are extra toiletries in the rooms, ex. face cleansing pads. complimentary water on first night. Small fridge in room. Breakfast was good. I would recommend it.

First class breakfast and service. Poor car parking at front of property.

Thanks John & Barbara for your review.Glad the breakfast & service etc was First Class!Re the comment on 'Poor Car Parking', is that by the driver or our car spaces on our forecourt? We do not have a car park like big hotels, as we are a humble small Guest House, so parking/land is at a premium. As you can see by various photos on the booking site.The four main spaces can be accessed very easily by pulling in or reversing into the space. We have one larger space that is for more mobility impaired guests and the Owners space which I vacate when we have 6 cars in, plus motor cycle bay.Maybe it’s more of a question about the ability of the driver?We are also not responsible for other guests driving/parking standards.On the upside, we are fortunate to have two free car parking bays on the road right outside our property and 10 more in the road.However, they don't belong to us, so first come first parked!We believe there was an issue from your daughter re you leaving by 8am to catch the 9.30am ferry you had booked yourself and not getting a breakfast before you left but during numerous conversations you said 'you would get something on the ferry', so it wasn’t a problem. You could have quite easily & politely asked if you could have come in a bit earlier to have a quick light option or cereal/toast & cuppa etc or even had a take away bacon/sausage/egg baps but you wanted to shoot off early, so you never asked. So how was that our fault? So Judith's Bad comments was unnecessary!Anyway, we are glad you had a lovely stay, as you wrote in our guest book and hope you come back again.Kind regardsKeith & Christine & the dogs xx

Had a really lovely stay . room was lovely and clean comfortable bed . Tasty home cooked breakfast . Good central location. Really good value for money . Hosts were friendly and helpful .

My sister and I had a wonderful time on our stay at the Swiss Cottage premises were very clean and well maintained, breakfast was excellent and there was lots of choice in the menu all in all a wonderful stay Christine couldn't have been more helpful.

Good value , all the basics , needs an update
Posted 13 Mar 2024 on HotelsOverall ticks all the boxes . In some need of updating , decor , furniture . Mattress too soft for me , a topper or new one would be ideal. Parking was fine. An altercation with the owner and a guest at 1.30 am on my second night didn’t help my sleep . Whilst my room was next door to the entrance , and in all probability not the fault of the owner , regardless , there are other guests in the accommodation to consider. Overall decent for the price .

Glad we were able to accommodate you for your weekend.Everyone has a personal taste on Décor but the Room is in keeping with the building, as its a 1866 Victorian Property and is Rated as 4 Star! In fact the room has just had a fresh coat of paint and colour change and has only just had the Hotel Inspector stay in it a few weeks ago.Again mattress is a Dreams Hotel Source 5 Medium and also has a 2nd mattress underneath to make it higher and softer for Mobility classification! Yes sorry about the disturbance at night which was out of our hands but is being dealt with.Anyway overall cant complain and glad you had a good stay.
