No control over air conditioners, and the room was hot like a sauna. The phone in the room was also broken so we needed to go down to the front desk to ask for help. The staff in the reception could not speak English at all.
We asked to lower the temperature of the AC but they came to our room to open the window instead. The room was above the 30th floor and they just opened the window and there was no screen door or anything.
We had such a difficult time staying in this hotel. The location was not good either. You need to either take a cab or change trains a couple of times to get to most of the tourist spots.
I would recommend not to choose this hotel if you are going to Shanghai for sightseeing, especially for those who does not speak Chinese.

The hotel is very old. The bathroom was full of mould around the tiles and the silicone in the shower. The floor in the rooms were visibly dirty and required vacuuming. The indoor pool is extremely outdated. The staff were lovely and helpful.

Stay clear of this trashy hotel
Posted 12 Feb 2024 on HotelsHotels.com is getting worse by the day. They are recommending hotels which have no standard. I tried phoning this hotel as well as contacting them by mail and could never get through. I then contact hotels.com because I could not travel as I was sick and they could not get through. What a joke

Great Hotel, Noisy Elevators
Posted 6 Jan 2024 on HotelsIt was a great hotel; however, the pool was not open. That was a major disappointment.
The administration should do something about the sound produced by the elevator ducts. There is a constant humming sound coming from them. The poor front desk people must deal with that sound all day long. Perhaps a set of extra doors separating the aisle would be enough. The administration of the building should think about their employees, too. The restaurant dinning service was not good for the prices. Service was fine, but should be better.
