The location is good, about 25 min from Seward. The property is ok but falls short on many amenities. Good for a quick night stay but would not recommend for a longer stay.

Vishwajit, Thank you for your review of The Retreat. I am saddened to see your response. I am not sure what amenities you are referring to? All amenities were listed prior to you making the booking. Why would you make the booking if those amenities were not suitable? I have guests stay here for long periods of time including two cabins here now for six nights and an upcoming one for sixteen nights. I do hope the rest of your trip goes well.

Nice place in the woods

The cozy cabin was spotless, quiet, and near a beautiful lake. Would love to stay there again.

We stayed in cabin 4, aka the fun cabin. It has lake view and it was gorgeous. Really enjoyed our stay here. There is no wifi in the cabin; only in the office.

Road construction noise all night and not there fault. Old drapes, heard bats in the ceiling and in looking on line that we would be able to see water.

If you want to get away from it all, Renfros is the place to go. There is no WIFI or phone service unless you go to the lodge. Make sure you take your own provisions such as salt pepper etc. The fridge is very small and the freezer will not actually keep things frozen. Seward is not far for supplies. There is plenty of hiking and things to see in the aeea..

You must have us mixed up with another lodging establishment as all of your provisions are provided (including salt and pepper, etc) as outlined in your pre arrival email. You never notified me of challenges with the freezer. It was checked and it is working as intended. I am glad you enjoyed your stay and I hope your drive back to the lower 48 goes well!

This was the cleanest, most well-maintained cabin we’ve ever been to. There were so many creative, beautiful touches to the cabin and the whole campground. The cabin was well equipped for everything we needed (2 adults, 3 teens) with a gorgeous view. There is nothing I wld have changed or added!!

Stayed overnight before a fishing trip from Seward. Beautiful scenery and great hosts.

We are so glad we stayed at Renfro’s! It is a great “unplugged” space where we got a lot of quality family time. There are books and games available in the office, as well as kayaks and paddle boats. Our kids really enjoyed exploring at the beach, playing in the cabin loft, and swinging in the hammock. The cabin was comfortable for our family of 5. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes and cookware. We would absolutely stay here again!
