There is the historic part of the hotel and the modern. We accidentally booked the historic side with no elevator and very small rooms. They were very accommodating and switched us to the modern side with elevators. They have a van that will also take you anywhere you wanna go in town.
We had a room without a bathroom. I’m assuming that I knew that when I booked, but didn’t remember until my husband freaked out about using a communal restroom
We are in our late 70s and were assigned in the older portion of the hotel. Taking luggage up and down stairs is not convenient for us. We had help getting it up but not going down. There is not elevator on that side.
The first night we stayed several visitors were going in and out their rooms slamming doors and we had to call the front desk to quiet them down.
The restaurant was great.
Our first time in Seward and when we go back we will use Hotel Seward again. They were very accommodating and the staff were extremely friendly.

Stayed for 2nights in August. While sort of close to town was too far from docks and Sealife center. Had to find parking which was difficult. Front desk personnel talked a lot amongst themselves and not to visitors
The Hotel Seward was average. I missed that it has two shared bathrooms down the hall and was a little surprised. No private bathroom in the room that I booked, so be sure to check if you stay. If you’re looking for a place to sleep than it’s fine. Thanks

Staff extremely pleasant. Hotel was clean - well kept snd quiet.
The hotel meet our needs for a two night stay. Front desk staff did their job, but did not smile or make me feel as if they were interested in me as a customer, ie asking is there was anything else I needed. Could not answer a question about possibly cancelling a future reservation when the Expedia website said to check with the hotel.

This is a wonderful historic hotel in Seward. It reminded us of historic hotels and guest houses in Africa. Clean, quiet and in the middle of town. The hallways to the rooms were decorated with historic pictures and explanations from that time. Downers were no bathrooms in the old section where we were housed. The cost, as with everything in Alaska was too much for the value. But we would definitely stay there again if we return.

Very positive feeling upon arrival, but the facilities had a few odd quirks. The parking area has a limited number of spaces so if you arrive late you will likely be parking on the street (which limits one to 2 hours during the day). If you prefer tea to coffee you won't have many options; one person at the front desk suggested using the (single serving) coffee maker to warm water, which some tea drinkers might object to as the drink will then have a coffee taste. (btw, I overheard this same person tell a client the street parking was unlimited - demonstrably false). Most of the front desk staff were helpful, so this one person seemed like an outlier; but it did diminish the overall impression of the hotel.
We had the three bedroom family room/house and it was amazing! Couldn’t have been a nicer location, or space. The shuttle driver was exceptionally sweet (Braco I think…I am horrible with names) and went over and above to help us. I can’t say enough good about this stay!
