This villa was advertised as being near downtown Ubud, but in reality, it was located far out in the countryside, nowhere close to the city. "Stay was during May-25 at the Akohara retreat in Ubud. On arrival greeted by staff with flower garland, drinks and local traditional dance. This is definitely a couples retreat. Our room was six levels down a mountain, some 405 steps down. We used the inclinator elevator to travel between our room and main pool and restaurant. "Great hotel in central Sanur. Location fabulous, short walk to Icon Mall and so many fabulous restaurants within 5 minutes walk. Hotel is well maintained, the pool is a highlight. Beds comfortably, I could only book 2 twins, but they pushed them together. Very good sleep. Breakfast variety and quality 5 star. 10 minute walk to beach. Nice big long clean beach and walkway. Highly recommended if in Sanur."

"Beautiful property and pool. The staff is very kind and helpful. We were welcomed by Ayu at the reception. She's a trainee, but is very well skilled, speaks excellent English and extremely kind and welcoming. She gave us room 8203, a very nice room overlooking the pool and temple. Wayan the restaurant manager runs things smoothly and is great company. We had a lot of contact with him and he taught us a lot about Balinese culture and Bahasa. Then there's the bartender Wira, he has the friendliest smile, talks a lot and makes every cocktail you want. He is very tallented as well and is also a trainee. Every hotel needs a Wira at their bar! Septiana works in the restaurant and is a lot of fun. She entertaines the guests, serves everything you ask for and knows a lot about Ubud and where to go or not. Overall they have a lot of friendly tallented trainees like Ayu, Wira (Lola), Ari, Dewa and Rani. They made us feel right at home. They do have excellent staff to teach them. Murkanti, Garet, Gus Dwi and Septiana lead the hotel and restaurant excellent. Thanks to them we had a great time and will come back to this beautiful hotel."

"We had a fantastic stay at Swahita! The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel truly welcomed from the moment we arrived. Their hospitality alone would keep us coming back. The only small suggestion I have is to improve the coffee at breakfast by adding a filter. Other than that, a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend staying here mainly because of the exceptional staff and great location. Walkable to a lot of attractions and restaurants. "
