WHATEVER YOU DO. DO NOT STAY HERE. I REPEAT DO NOT STAY HERE. THE FOOD IS OLD, STALE, HORRIBLE, I ASKED FOR CLEAN TOWELS AND THE OWNER AND I GOT INTO A SHOUTING MATCH. HE EVEN TOLD ME GO BACK TO AMERICA. WE CHECKED OUT AN ENTIRE DAY EARLIER AND WAS CHARGED A 25$ US CANCELLATION FEE. FOR WHAT??? Only God knows. STAY AWAY FROM THERE. ITS DESERTED, NOTHING TO DO AND NOT AS DESCRIBED AS IN THE PUCTURES ON THE WEBSITE.

Not a resort for family with kids

Posted 26 Apr 2018
Desk staff was rude. I booked three adults through Expedia but had no proof and hotel said I only had reservations for two and wanted to charge me an additional $700 for the third person. Breakfast was any kind of processed meat they could get from the garbage. The fruit was local and great. Will return to Costa Rica but would never recommend this resort. The bedding and pillows stunk. No coffee maker in huts.

Great spot to be away from it all.

Posted 21 Nov 2017
Card machine for paying bills seems to always be offline and not working. The hotels grounds where beautiful and he staff was great. The rooms let in mosquitoes by the hundreds it seems like. Doors always closed and no windows open. Every night we had to hide under the sheets to keep from getting eaten alive.

A beautiful jungle retreat

Posted 23 Jun 2017
We truly enjoyed our stay at this off-the-beaten-path property. Tucked away along the coastal highway, it is in close proximity to the many beautiful beaches and waterfalls of Osa province. We were given excellent advice on nearby sights by the resort owner. The resort bungalow was roomy, well built, and contained a small kitchen that was a huge bonus to my family. The included breakfast was delicious and the service wonderful.

So so

Posted 4 Mar 2017
It's a lovely setting in the jungle but very muggy of course and the fans in the room can only help a little. We did see a very big and healthy cockroach as we were unpacking though. We informed the front desk of our roommate and they sprayed the room. When we returned, it was laying dead in the bathroom. You definitely need a car here! It's longer than 3km to Matapalo beach.

Rainforest Bungalow

Posted 22 Jan 2017
Pros: Beautiful grounds, lush plants and remote feeling
Cons: Wifi in the rooms, road to La Palapa could be better maintained.
Location: Not much immediately nearby...but there is a waterfall you can walk to. Dominical is 15 km and Uvita is 30 km.
This place is awesome! Highly recommend. The staff are all very friendly, and the grounds are immaculate. You will legitimately feel like you are living in the rainforest. Go ahead and spring the extra $$ for the private bungalow- well worth it! The road to La Palapa is very bumpy, but our 2WD Toyota Yaris managed it just fine.

Paradise in the rain forest

Posted 4 Jun 2016 on Orbitz
This is an ecolodge. The grounds are a paradise, a Garden of Eden in the middle of the rain forest, the attention devoted to the gardening and outdoor milieu is remarkable, the work of a lifetime and of love. We highly recommend staying here, extended our initial two nights to four. For the price it is an absolute steal. The rooms (cabins) are spacious, with a fully equipped kitchen and pleasant furnishings, but in rustic style. Very comfortable, but not luxurious if that is what you are looking for. Internet is spotty in the rooms, no coffee in the rooms and no a/c (though the fans were enough most of the time). Pool is for cooling off only, not big enough to swim. Breakfast is a simple version of the standard Costa Rican breakfast. Do not eat other meals here, we had a dinner which was simply terrible. The staff is friendly, but with the exception of the owner and front desk do not speak English. We loved staying here, it is a paradise, but there is a tension between the loving effort they devoted to the grounds, cabins, the exterior, and the level of service provided. There is a feeling that everything has been very carefully measured, e.g. you get just a certain amount of fruit for breakfast, not more. So we recommend forgetting the limited problems and highkly recommend staying here.

Beautiful Place to Stay

Posted 21 Apr 2016
Pros: Everything!
Cons: Everything!
Location: About 15 mins south of Quepos and before Dominical. Perfect if you do not want to be in either of those towns.
I was looking for a place to stay close to Dominical and booked this at the last minute. It cam up as The Deal of the Day. So glad we stayed there. It was beautiful, charming, clean, green and the staff was great. I'd highly recommend it.
